Good 42º clear sunny morning. I think it hit about 72º
yesterday. All those clouds.
On non-leap years (until 2039), this day marks the summer solstice in the
northern hemisphere
and the winter solstice in the
southern hemisphere,
and is the day of the year with the most hours of daylight in the northern
hemisphere and the least hours of daylight in the southern hemisphere. Or as we
call it... the 'first day of summer'.
Yesterday on Facebook my friend Linda said her hubby had a run
in with a skunk. People suggested the old tomato juice bath. ICK!!! MESSY!!!
This is the time of year the little black and white darlings are moseying around
with their young... if you have skunks in your area go to the store and buy
Neutrogena Clean Shampoo...
I have had experience with this. My darling was trapping skunks that were
living under our house. Of course the trap gets saturated and so did his shoes
after walking in the stink. You can saturate the ground with white vinegar to
get rid of the smell, you can bathe yourself and your clothes with the shampoo.
Gets it off right away. Maggie had a few experiences too and I just wet her
down, poured on the shampoo, and the smell was gone IMMEDIATELY! There is also
Skunk Off...
... get it at hardware or pet store. Brian's Atlas got skunked and he just
wiped him down and the smell was gone. Keep something like this on hand for that
one time emergency!

another goodie from George Bachmeier...
"As democracy is perfected, the office of President represents, more
and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and
glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's
desire at last and the White House will be occupied by a downright
moron."
--- H.L. Mencken, The Baltimore Evening Sun, July 26,
1920
I can add ... a moron wrapped around an idiot! (Thanks
Jeannie!) We certainly got one of those.

One more from George (Peter Dee and Dale you will like this!):
Tower: "Delta 351, you have
traffic at 10 o'clock, 6 miles!"
Delta 351: "Give us another
hint! We have digital watches!"

Yesterday was Applegate Valley Ranch for dinner. It's out on
Applegate Road outside of Grants Pass...between the Schmidt and Troon
Vineyards...
It was being hosted by Casa Amiga with José and his group. There were
nine of us...
Moving center to left and back to right..
Rich, Barbara (Chatelains), Peter (sorry, don't know your last name!), Dale, Dee (Yellins),
Bob (Havercroft), me, Jeannie and back to Bill (Pattersons) in the front...
It was all you can eat tacos... they had pork, chicken, beef, and
carne asada. There were all the condiments.. plus chips, refried beans, black
beans, and rice. Margaritas were the drink of the evening, but Jeannie and I
stuck to the Chardonnay.
Thanks Missy and Gang. Good time!
Nice evening. Nice people. We'll go back for their regular BBQ
another night. Oh, and saw my friend Donna Walsh, artist extraordinaire. She was
there with her hubby. She gave me a card she had made up of one of her
paintings....
To see more of Donna's works go to www.donnawalshfineart.com
Scroll down through the gallery and you will come to a black wolf on the left called 'The Watcher'.. that is the painting I have. LOVE it!

June 21st.
National Peaches and Cream Day
When I was growing up we had a freestone peach tree in our backyard. THE BEST
peaches ever! Daddy said it was planted by a bird!

Happy First day of Summer. Yeah, love the heat!!!
It was fun last night. Good food, great company, looking forward to the next time. Is your mouth still burning? LOL
We have that shampoo on hand, I pray we never have to use it! Thanks for the info on it.
Well, time to start my day, hope yours is grand and we will chat later. xo
Jeannie
I know you like the heat. I am just happy air conditioning was invented along with summer breezes!! As for that habanero sauce... WOW! Sure started a fire in my mouth! xo
Thank you for the link to the artist's page- and for sharing the visit at Applegate. It looks like my kind of place.
Putting the skunk remedies on the list. We are so over do for that sort of emergency):-
Yes, Jeannie, it was fun! The habanero sauce was HOT!!! It started a fire in my mouth. Apparently so with Bob too!!! LOL. Looking forward to the next BBQ there. xo
Thanks Lydia! Yes, good to be prepared for the black and whites! And I'm not talking radio cars! xo
Over the years we have had all kinds of varmints traipse thru our back yard. Thankfully when I saw a skunk come thru the dog was behind the side gate. Yikes!
Lovely place for an outside dinner. Your plate looked amazing! Since it was all you could eat, did you go back for seconds? :)
XO Trisha
No, Trish, I was STUFFED!!! xo
Neutrogena Clean Shampoo... I've got that on hand. You mentioned that shampoo before so I got it and we've been using it ever since for Jakey's baths.
Thanks for your funny quotes, I always enjoy them and always seem to forget to let you know. Got my daily dose of chuckles out of today's moron in the White House & the digital watches :)
Your friend, Donna Walsh certainly is one great artist! I can't believe the talent this woman has, not only paintings but sculptures too!!
Love the cat & mouse video and will send the link to Freddy. He, like you, will be able to identify with Simon. Thanks for sharing.
Have a great day. EN
Thanks Jeannie. Yes, last night was fun!! The habanero sauce was something else. Not only got me but Bob too! LOL. xo
