Dude ~ Brian ~ Artichokes ~ Swallow House ~ Camera Day

Good 58º clear gonna be another hot one! Yesterday we hit
96º and it was very uncomfortable. Cooled off in the night though, thankfully.

Thursday morning about 8:30.....
Friday morning about 10:30...
Looks the same this morning.

Boy, yesterday was a lost day. Haven't had an upset tummy in a long long time. Took it easy. Ate light. Rested. Had AC on and the dogs were enjoying that.  Especially because the temp hit
96º. UGH.
Dude LOVES to go for a run, so I rode in the golf cart and he ran all the way down and back our road. 3/10ths of a mile one way.... so it was a good run. Now only if I could do that! We did this early, 9-ish, before it got hot. By 10:30 it was 81º already. A couple of ground squirrels ran out in front of him and he caught one! OMG. I sternly told him to "COME" ! I didn't want him to eat it or have it bite him. He minds so well! What a good boy! Once Maggie was chasing a ground squirrel and I got there just in time to see her swallow it ! LORDY!!! Then as soon as it went down, it came back up! YUCK!!!!  Anyway, good run and then nap time~!
Yesterday was Insurance Awareness Day and I didn't put my favorite insurance agent on my blog... shame on me. So here he is, a day late....
I ♥ you B!
Thursday night I tried a new way to cook artichokes...My idea because the ones I got were so BIG and took forever to cook, so I cut them in half, stem off, and laid them in a deep frying pan, covered with water, added olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, and sea salt. Cooked them the average 45 minutes at a boil.
The choke came out easy and then I had 4 halves to munch on...

The birdhouse with the swallows is just about to be empty.. those birdies are getting big...

Camera Day
LOL, me on the ferry to Victoria BC... with Brownie close (1954)! Then the pictures I took with that same camera from the top of the Washington Monument in Washington DC in 1955.  And, then me Thursday after getting my hair all cut off short... camera in hand, the baby camera.

But.... this is my camera of choice, the big gun!
George Eastman is the "Father of Photography". He didn't invent photography. He made many photographic inventions, and created the mass production that brought cameras into everyday use by millions, if not billions of people. His most famous slogan "You take the picture, we do the rest." Celebrate Camera Day today in a memorable way. Use your digital camera and click the day away!

Can't wait to tell Gerry it is camera day.

The Korean War- the difference between the north and south now shows the difference between despotic communism and free republics.

Glad your tummy is feeling better today. You didn't SAY it was better but I am assuming. Wonder what was wrong? Something you ate or a bug?

I almost always put my artichokes in a Corning Ware dish with water and salt and cook in the microwave. They cook much faster than on the stove.
Yours looked yummy!

Your haircut is cute on you!

p.s. BTW, thank you for not putting those ugly hard to read codes at the bottom in order to leave a comment. Yea, I know you get robots so thanks!
