Good 54º (heat wave!) morning. Gadz. Summer has arrived. Dang.
Wanted more Spring. Was 90º yesterday, today will probably be the same.
Because it's so warm I have the dining room windows open. All
I can hear is that danged rooster up at the neighbors. I'd like to strangle him!
WHY would you want roosters???? They are as irritating as someone sitting next
to you chewing with their mouth open!
And here is the Princess I apparently disturbed taking pictures! LOL
Today is my nephew's birthday. Jim Plumbridge, real estate
agent at Lake Tahoe in Tahoe City, former USN, husband, dad, golfer ... HAPPY
BIRTHDAY JIMMINY CRICKET!!!! HUGS. Lookin' GOOD! xoxo

Got this from Ike Saben (ret LASD) .... omg.
"The European Union (EU) has granted a permit to an Austrian
brewery to officially use the controversial name of their beer: Fucking Hell."
It is a fully legitimate permit. "Hell" in German means
'light' and the beer is produced in the town of Fucking.
Also, I looked up "hell" in German...
adjective:
leicht light, easy, lightweight, simple, slight, mild
licht light, bright, thin, sparse
hell light, bright, pale, clear, fair, high
All of this apparently has angered the population of Fucking! Or should I say, it's angered the whole Fucking population!

Historically this date...
1945 – World War II: Off the coast
of Okinawa, the aircraft carrier USS Bunker
Hill is hit by two kamikazes, killing 346 of its
crew. Although badly damaged, the ship is able to return to the U.S. under its
own power.
1949 – Siam officially changes its
name to Thailand for the second time.
The name had been in use since 1939 but was reverted in 1945.
1987 – In Baltimore, Maryland,
the first heart–lung
transplant takes place. The surgery is performed by Dr. Bruce Reitz of the Stanford
University School of Medicine.
1996 – The 1996 Mount
Everest disaster: on a single day eight people die during summit attempts on
Mount Everest.
And births this date include....
1811 – Chang and Eng
Bunker, Thai-American conjoined twins (d.
1874) Because they were Thai (formerly Siam) ergo the name Siamese Twins! Interesting story...
....would you believe, smoking killed him! Geeze people. Stop smoking! It kills. AND you smell bad!
I really wanted to cook some shrimp yesterday, but in the market I could
only find shrimp from Thailand and Viet Nam. NO THANKS! They grow them in ponds
with human excrement. UGH. I want shrimp caught off the southern coast of the
good old US of A !
So, I made a quesadilla with American and provolone.
Yesterday Jason was here finishing up the weed-eating. I took the Maggs and
Dude on a ride down to Jason's folks to pay him... then the pups posed ... with
Knotty...
.... for my friends.... who asked for a Maggie fix! xo
Picked up Bruiser from the vets. He had his ear flushed again and an
antibiotic put in the ear canal. They had to sedate him for this so when I
picked him up at 5 he still wasn't out of it completely. A total nut case,
running from one end of the house to the other. He finally settled down about
9pm.
All I know. Tucker's team will be playing today but he and family will be
in Glendale Oregon for one of Tucker's pal's birthday party. I will work in the
yard. Will take the sprayer down to Dave first thing so he can figure out why
the danged thing won't run! Again.
Happy Saturday. Nuff said. Ciao.

Eat What You Want Day
What would you like to have to eat today? Okay, great.....health
permitting, go ahead and have any and all of your favorite foods and snacks.
Because today is Eat What You Want Day.
International Migratory Bird Day celebrates the incredible
journey that migratory birds take each year. They travel thousands of miles
between breeding grounds in North America, and their winter homes in Central and
South America. Organizers say this is a day to both support, and to increase
awareness of conservation efforts in support of migratory birds. They also
suggest a field trip into a woods to look for and enjoy migrating birds.

LOL- I thought the Austria story was a set up):-
Yesterday morning a female oriole tried to migrate through the bathroom window. Thud. When I checked to see if she was okay- one look at how I look before coffee- and she took off. Guess I would make a good scare crow.
I always feel so sorry for the birdies when they hit the windows. Usually they are ok afterwards, but sometimes I sit with them until they fly away.
Haven't left a comment for a few days, now I have. Great blog! Thanks for the info and glad I don't live in "fucking"! Good grief.
Don't work too hard in the heat, I am headed outside now. Have a wonderful day and we will chat later. xo
Jeannie
Sitting here still laughing at the name of the beer and OMG the town!! WHO would want to live there?
Our hummers are back in full force now. For days we had a bully. He had a red neck so we called him "the red neck"! He would sit on the wire of one of the feeders and when another hummer would come to drink he would chase it away. This went on for days. We were so frustrated we didn't know what to do about him! Finally he's gone so we think maybe a bunch of them got together and fought him off! lol
Yesterday a big bright yellow bird with some black markings came to the feeder. He couldn't drink from it of course but he was oh so beautiful. Still trying to figure out what he is.
Have a good day!
XO Trisha
@ Jeannie, thanks! xo
@ T, maybe the bird was a goldfinch. Hummers claim feeders ... that's why I have two up. Seems to work.
xo
Sue,
We also have two up. John bought a HUGE one so he didn't have to refill so often. That red neck chased them away from both. He seems to be gone now.
I will research about that yellow bird. So pretty.
XO Trisha
OK I checked! VERY GOOD!! It was a Goldfinch!! Thanks!
Trisha
I thinks princess MAGS needs another bed or two!
