Good 47º, few scattered clouds, morning.
Wayyyyy too funny! :
Here is another WD-40 hint:
WD-40 can also keeps pests at bay. Spray windowsills, door frames and eaves
to keep yellow jackets and hornets from building nests.
Historically this date...
and a bunch of other bad stuff happened ... Patty's brother Hal died in
2008... we're still mourning him! Great guy!
Births this date include...
A whole bunch of people, of which none are of interest to me.
Yesterday was so nice. Jen and Brian had Jean and I over
for lunch. Table was lovely, set out on the patio. Lunch was a "do it yourself"
sandwich with bread and cheese rolls, deli meats, cheeses, watermelon, crackers
and guacamole. Dessert was a "do it yourself" ice cream bar. YUMMMM!!!
The Moms... (yummm... she had Bridgeview chard!)
Sami's watermelon smile. Tucker's ice cream concoction.
The only thing missing??? Kristen, Alex, and Jack! ♥ ♥ ♥
Here's Brian and Jen's project. They had a hot tub on a platform with a
fence around it. Sold the tub, removed the fence. Built a step and next will be
a U-shaped bench with pillows. Deck has been coated with a paint like the kind
that
is sprayed in the bed of pickup trucks to make it impenetrable. It will
have a fire pit in the center. Nice!
Brian is even going to hang his projection screen and projector opposite so
programs and games can be watched from the seating pit. The projector projects
what is on the TV! So cool. He had it outside in the yard for the Super
Bowl.
I'm claiming my seat for this years Super Bowl now! In the pit!
It's The Little Things (from a book Jean gave me)
"When someone says 'Bless you' after you sneeze."
Before I went to Brian's I stopped at The Grange to pick up a new motor for
the sprayer. Took it to Dave when I got back home. He came up about 5 with the
sprayer all fixed and the new motor working great! PJ followed him on the mower
and we sat and had a glass of wine. Dave tried the cinnamon whiskey and LOVED
it! Guess we have another convert! Guess I'm spraying weeds today~! YEAH!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Monday. Ciao.

National Fruit Cocktail Day
Fruit Cocktail Dessert Cake (easy, yummy, fast)
1 box of yellow cake mix
3 eggs
1 (15 ounce) can of fruit cocktail with juice
Preheat oven to 350º. In large bowl add cake mix and eggs. If recipe calls
for water replace it with the juice from the fruit cocktail can. Add water if
necessary to attain the full liquid measurement required on the box. Mix
well.
Fold in the fruit cocktail. Grease the baking dish, tube pan, or Bundt pan.
Bake 45-50 minutes, until cake is done.
Remove cake from pan to cooling rack. Allow 20 minutes before inverting
cake from pan and put back on cooling rack. Let cake cool completely. No
frosting necessary....but a dollop of whipped cream would be perfect!

I hope you show photos of the finished project at B and J's house! It looks like a lot of fun!!
The video was funnnnnneeee- too bad it's true! t and g
Jen always has lovely celebrations! Love her table fixins and her pretty table cloth!
Brian is certainly clever with building his seating pit! What fun for Super Bowl, etc. I am thinking he will also need a propane heater out there for that time of year.
Happy spraying!!

How did Gerry's barbecue get from our house to RR and back overnight?):-
Our next door neighbors have a full bar with TV's- very popular on Super Bowl Sunday.
I don't think Sami will ever have shyness issues.
Thanks for the fruit cocktail cake suggestion. That used to be Gerry's favorite- haven't made it in forever. Easy enough to fix.'
LOL, that BBQ was Brian's birthday present. No, Sami is not shy! I'm going to make the cake also. Pushed my drool button. xo
