Good 24º morning. A minute ago it was 23º. Wow, warming up! Pretty clouds
yesterday afternoon..... we're supposed to warm way up to the 60ºs today and
tomorrow.
My cold has eased up a bit. LOVE Progresso 'Lite' soup for a quick, easy,
low calorie, chickeny, meal! That, and of course hot Scotch Whiskey and honey
for that soothing coughing remedy! A 'warm all over' feeling too! No coughing at
night, which is a blessing. The Zicam still seems to be working! Still stayin'
in and keeping away from people. More soup, my chair, movies, and hot tea with
lemon!
Got this from Erika... so to the point and right on all counts!
Got this link from George Bachmeier (LASD ret)..fascinating how these birds
change appearance!
Historically this date...
1965 – NASA launches Gemini 3, the United States' first
two-man space flight (crew: Gus Grissom and John
Young).
2005 – Texas City
Refinery explosion: During a test on a distillation tower liquid waste
builds up and flows out of a blowout tower. Waste fumes ignite and explode
killing 15 workers.
And births this date include....
Pretty and soft looking when she was young... then the tough look and
those eyebrows!
.....he was always just too odd for my taste!
Yesterday I took the leftover corned beef and made paté. I put it in the
little mini food chopper and mixed in mayonnaise and horseradish. The second batch I
added ranch dressing. Spread it on toast and it's MAGNIFIQUE!
I think today I'll soak some dried chickpeas and make some hummus ... a
couple different flavors .... good for dipping fresh vegetables! See, the cold
is better and food is on my mind! LOL.
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Saturday! Ciao.

National Chip and Dip Day
As if snackers of the world needed an excuse to indulge in the salty
goodness of potato or tortilla chips along with their favorite dip, National
Chip and Dip Day puts the official seal of approval on your guilty pleasure, if
for but one day.
Here are a bunch of dip recipes....some sound so HEAVENLY!
also....
National Melba Toast Day
Named for a famous 1890s Australian opera singer and invented by noted
French chef Auguste Escoffier, melba toast has been served as a snack, a
dietetic food and to teething babies. While Dame Nellie Melba may not have any
holidays named after her here in North America, her name lives on during
National Melba Toast Day!
