Good 33º morning. Some clouds. Chance of rain 40%-50% until Wednesday when
it increases to 70%. We'll see.....
Here is one of my photographs I "tweaked" with the new photo paint program.
I couldn't believe that I felt so good yesterday! 100% over the past 6
days. I started feeling crummy on Tuesday and the cold hit hard by Wednesday
evening. Glad that's over!!!
This lovely plant is blooming in my bathroom window...
Patty gave me this Amaryllis a number of years ago when they were heading
to the coast for the summer. It never fails to impress. Blooms twice a
year.
Must be something about this time of year, as I looked back a year ago on
my blog I was making hummus then! So, yesterday I made two batches, one flavored
with pesto
and one with sweet/hot chili and siracha.
Both good! Snacked on them with raw vegetables.
Then I made some soup.
Basically I wanted to make some garbanzo bean soup, so found a recipe that
sounded good. Then as I worked on it I changed my mind as to ingredients. All of
the above did not go into it.
First into the crockpot 2 cartons of chicken stock, some onion, garlic,
rosemary, 1 can of diced tomato, 1 can of artichoke heart quarters, and a can of
drained and rinsed black beans. After an hour or so I added in three cups of
garbanzo beans. I reconstituted a couple cups of dried mushrooms and cut them up
and added them in....
along with about a tablespoon of sesame oil. Another hour or so I stirred
in a big handful of baby spinach and a package of Bear Creek Cheesy
Cheddar Broccoli soup mix.
Sold at most markets, Target, Wal-Mart, Amazon....
Bottom line....this soup was FANTASTIC!!!! It was thick and rich and cheesy
and I'm havin' some for breakfast!!!
You have got to see this cat! He's on top of a basketball backboard and he
gets down in a very unique way.

Happy escape! Glad you feel up to it.
SSue, I so love the Bear Creek Soups! I buy about a dzn at a time at our Big Lots. Way cheaper than at the markets. The family loves most of the and what I like is they make a huge pot full! Never thought of adding other ingredients. I should be more adverturesome!
I am glad I am not the only one who feels that way about Sarah Jessica Parker. Just recently when Eric was watching a Sex in the City episode I wondered aloud WHAT do they see in her??? I don't get it!!
Happy you are feeling so much better! You need an escape so ENJOY the day!!
XO Trisha
T, good to hear about your liking Bear Creek soups. They come from the Heber Valley in Utah. I thought they were originally from this area as we have a Beark Creek Medford! The soups certainly lend to any additions you can think of!
Yes, Parker is just odd and seems like a snot rag! Sorry Jessica. Change your personality!
