Sarah ~ Sign Collection ~ Spaghetti Stuck In Sausage

Good 29º morning. Supposed to get sun for a week but cold nights. Glad I don't live back east!!! Nothing new about the former LAPD killer. Hunt suspended over night in the mountains of So.Cal due to storms. Even the Grapevine is closed in both directions and unk for how long. Our sky this morning....fabulous!

Saturday morning already. What happened to that week? I did go to the dealer yesterday. They couldn't find anything that was causing the problem. Grrrrr... I am supposed to keep and eye on it, and if it acts up go directly to their service dept and do not turn the engine off. Ok, fine. They did take out the wiring box and put it back, to check for any critter residue under it, but none. They everything worked ok. Time will tell. Brent was happy happy to hear/see about the WD40 and how well it is working. When I was sitting in the lobby reading magazines and doing crossword puzzles I came across a picture that floored me! Here is Sarah Palin as we know her...

But...........................here is the "new Sarah"...OMG! I would never have recognized her!
People have commented, apparently, that she is too thin, but her daughter said, "No, she's fit." Wow. With a phone in her hand, even!

My pal Tammy in Modesto, the infamous mom of the freeway rescue Mr. Big Stuff (Sideways) said something about my game board wall and I told her I also collect signs... Here are a few of my collection:

All were obtained legally. They either were old and out of date and going to be tossed, given to me by city workers who knew I collected, or purchased at junk stores. The one that says "Ring Bell for Jailer" has on the back, "Ring Jailer for Bell". We had a Deputy, Ron Bell, at Temple who was the jailer for a while... LOL.

Historically this date...

1942 – Year-round Daylight saving time is re-instated in the United States as a wartime measure to help conserve energy resources.

1964The Beatles make their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, performing before a "record-busting" audience of 73 million viewers.

I certainly remember that. Just about tossed out of bed at 6am. Jumped up to see if Kristen was ok. Lay in bed with her to keep her calm. Brian due on the 22nd but after that quake he decided to make his appearance early on the 14th! Lucy, our collie, would stand up and look nervous just seconds before the next after shock hit.

1971 – Apollo program: Apollo 14 returns to Earth after the third manned moon landing.

And births this date include...
1942Carole King, American singer

1943 – Joe Pesci, American actor
....wow, looking ragged!

1945Mia Farrow, American actress

From Linda Rhorbacher (her friend/my friend Jon bought the John Deere) sent this along with some more I will share later... this looks so fun!!! Thanks Linda!

Make spaghetti and sausages in a creative way. Stick the spaghetti sticks in the sausages and cook them both in hot water.
This I have to try! Tonight!

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Saturday. Ciao.

I was living in Tujunga and the earth quake thru me across the hall. The sound that morning was broke glass going into the trash can. Went to work late. PatT

The So Cal search is allegedly now moved to La Palma.

That cooked spaghetti sprouting from sausage looks positively - there's a word for it- but it is too early in the AM for it to pop out. Going to try it just for the comment value):-

After a long stint of unemployment my dad got a job at Olive View Medical Center- the hospital which collapsed on itself. When we went to see it much later it was so strange. All looked normal from a distance. It was up close that the damage was apparent- the first floor was only a few feet tall.

Gerry was in college. On the 7th floor of the dorms. His roommate, from back east, was stunned. "Are they all like this?"

I was sleeping on the top bunk. We lived in Whittier. I remember asking if there was room in the bottom bunk for me. If I were going to be thrown to the ground, I wanted to start off closer to it):-

Funny how everyone seems to remember that quake. I ran in to see about John III who was going to be two on the 21st. He was standing up in his crib looking down at the floor.

I'll bet kids would love spaghetti fixed that way.

On the cruise we went on with the Buhman's and the Herrera's they had a tribute night to Carole King. I was shocked at all the great and familiar songs that she had written and she sang many of them. Vickie loves to sing and was singing along with the performance. The people around us were turning around giving her dirty looks! Carol finally told her to shush. V wasn't happy about that! :(
Let us know how your spaghetti turns out!

Don't understand why Vickie would do that. Nobody wants to go hear someone sing and have someone in the audiance singing too. Odd. Was looking for sausage, but haven't found any yet. Will let you know. xo

So true. Well she seems to do what she wants to do and she knows all the words of every song ever written I think and she wanted to sing along. As I said people around us were ticked!! She was ticked at Carol for telling her to shush too!

Forgot to tell you....when the twins were young and shared a room dad had made a hole in the ceiling to put a light but then decided to put it in a difference place. So, there was a hole in the middle of the ceiling. I had an American flag sticker so I slapped it over the hole. That lead to a huge collection of bumper stickers plastered all over their ceiling. It was fun for them to lie in bed and look at them all. Of course we eventually took them down and re decorated the room.
Your sign collection reminded me of that. Dad has a collection of car club signs in the garage.
