Shopping ~ Wine Bar ~ Crazies ~ Cotton Candy Cocktail

Good 32º morning. BURRRRR..... It's supposed to warm to about 48º today and stay somewhat cloudy. Last year on this date it was 23°.
Pearl Harbor Day! Today was my mother-in-law, Evelyn Pendleton's birthday ... 1909-1999. HAPPY BIRTHDAY NANA!

Yesterday Jeannie and I had a shopping day ... and we acted like tourists!

We got a lot accomplished.... Hallmark, JCPennys, Elegance (where she had given me a gift cert. for my birthday) and got some really interesting goodies! (will share later), and finally ended up at The Twisted Cork Wine Bar.
Our waitress was Jocelyn and she was charming. We had:
"Mama Mia Flatbread with mozzarella, oven roasted tomatoes, garlic, spinach, grilled chicken, pesto, and drizzled with a balsamic. GOOD! (If you bring a cup of balsamic vinegar and about 2 T of brown sugar ...or don't add the sugar and it will be sweet without, to a simmer, cook and reduce for about 20 minutes you will have a great sauce to drizzle over chicken, salad, or fruit. It reduces to about half. Make a salad with spinach, strawberries, and feta cheese and drizzle on the reduced balsamic...OMGOOD!)

We also had a hot spinach/parmesan spread with toast rounds and fried ravioli with a spicy tomato sauce. ALL EXCELLENT!

We sat at a window table and enjoyed the passersby.... this gentleman was trying to parallel park across the street, must have been taking too long and the guy behind him honked, so this guy drove off. Then he came on our side of the street to park. His wife was holding her head, then it looked like she was yelling STOP STOP with her hands out if front. Finally he did it!

Then................ this guy was walking by outside and Jeannie made eye contact. So he came in the restaurant!!! OMG. He was promoting a "smile day" for December 21st .... he wants everyone in town to stand on corners with signs that say "SMILE". ??? Odd fellow. He says he's on FB, but I don't want to go there.

Ok, so historically this date.....

If I thought I would look as attractive as Ellen Burstyn, I would go gray. Alas, I would not.

cotton candy cocktail- not going there):- If I liked it, it would kill me.
