Thanksgiving Dinner ~ Gracie Elliott ~ Espresso Day

Good 38º low cloudy gloomy morning. Will be like yesterday...

Yesterday I made a cheesecake and deviled eggs. Took those and the ingredients for Mother's Rolls to Jeans to bake there along with a couple bottles of wine, a Spanish red and Chardonnay.

Mr. Turkey was in the oven and ready to come out.... Jen and her mom Jean were keeping an eye on it...(Jen looked so cute festive in her orange sweater!)

Sami and Tucker helped with the meal. Sami made what she called "Banana Cakes" which were slices of banana, topped with Activia and a sliver of almond. Tucker opened and sliced the cranberry sauce...

Jen made yams and mashed potatoes, Jean made pies and stuffing, and set out a myriad of goodies .... she also carved the bird..

And the motley crew sat down to eat...
L-R Tucker, Jen, Marie (cousin), Sandy (Jen's BFF), Brian, Donald (cousin.. who may move up here! yeah.), Zack (Sandy's son) Sami, and Jean.

Before and after dinner the pinball machine was busy, we watched football, and played with Zoë  (the sweetest and cutest little Corgi) ....

Sandy and Zack and cousins Marie and Donald (brother & sister) all came up from So. Cal.

A great day, a great meal, and family and friends. Awesome. I didn't get home until past my bedtime~! Recovering today. Doing nothing. Finger is doing great. Is there any football on today? I just want to sit in my chair. I'm hoping Jean gets to rest too with all the food she made and all the pre-dinner and after dinner clean up. Nothing easy about a Turkey Day meal!
Thanks Jean! xo

Today is a birthday of a special friend, Gracie Elliott (ret LASD). HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRACIE!!! xoxo (Looked for a picture of you and Jack among Ike's Laughlin pictures. Couldn't find one!)

Historically this date...
A whole bunch of tragic things happened and a bunch of boring stuff also.

And births this date include....

1859Billy the Kid, American outlaw (d. 1881)

1887 – Boris Karloff, British actor (d. 1969)

1888Harpo Marx, American comedian (d. 1964)

1992Miley Cyrus, American actress and singer
... she's been on Two & A Half Men and her voice sounds like she gargles with rocks and her new hairdo is ugly. Sorry Miley.

All I know. Nuff said. TGIF. If you go out shopping, GOOD LUCK! Ciao.

Sue,
I so agree about Miley! Stupid stupid hair cut and color! It took away all her cuteness and I was just commenting the other night on her raspy voice! Sounds like she's been drinking and smoking too much! What a shame for a once pretty girl and talented too.

Love your photos! Looks like you had a fun day. So grandma Jean have a pin ball machine in her house? That's amazing! Grandma's don't usually have those things! lol

I am pooped out from yesterday. My men were AMAZING with all the work they did! Will resize the photos and send in a bit. 25 people to any dinner is waaaay too many but love having the family here!

XO Trisha

Hi, Sue!

Thank you so much for your wonderful birthday wishes! You are a sweetheart. Hope your finger is doing better. Jack had a hip replacement last week Tuesday and is at home recuperating. Take care.
Love,
Grace

You have a lovely family, and with so many great cooks you should all weigh 500 pounds!! Beautiful photos. (Yesterday's blog note: someday we're going to try your prime rib cooking method....)
