Good 50º foggy (natch) morning. Yesterday was a beauty of a day! Supposed
to stay somewhat cloudy for a few and then rain predicted. for Thurs, Fri, and
maybe Sat. We'll see.
Yesterday the Dept of Forestry was doing a controlled burn up on the
mountain...
I don't get it ... when it 's a day with an "inversion layer" and we can't
do open or barrel burning, yet the DoF can???? Obviously the 'rules' don't apply
to everyone!
In case you don't go on FB, here is something I posted (Thanks T!)
And this always makes me laugh... my pals and their sign...
If you notice to the left (giggle) is the RR sign. Since some dirtbag lefty liberals have
been stealing the RomneyRyan signs up here, Dave put it high enough so they couldn't.
They have had the 'No Friggin' Way' sign up for some time, but added the NoBama
sign up high too so the jerks can't reach it!!!
And speaking of the upcoming election, yesterday I met up with Bob Olsson,
a Jackson County Republican Hq committee person, and we had a list of those
Republicans who hadn't voted in recent elections. We had door hangers for them,
some we talked to... spent about 2 hours driving around Rogue River and leaving
information, i.e.: too late to mail ballot, but drop boxes available in RR,
Wimer, and Medford. It was interesting.
Mike (who was the birthday boy on the 3rd) and Nan Cipolla are celebrating
their anniversary today. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY KIDS! I will have a martini in your
honor tonight!
Historically this date.....
... yeah yeah yeah, that was the name of my high school... Woodrow
Wilson. Natch the mascot was a Mule! Sue Shewalter and I were the 'inside
workings' of the mascot. We'd parade around on the football field, sitting on
the players laps (ha ha ha... that was Sue's end!!!) and being silly. What a
job, you get really sweaty inside those costumes! I doubt if anyone ever took
our picture. Sad.
1970 – Vietnam War: The United States Military
Assistance Command in Vietnam reports the lowest
weekly American soldier death toll in five years (24).
2006 – Saddam Hussein, former
president of Iraq, and his co-defendants Barzan Ibrahim
al-Tikriti and Awad Hamed
al-Bandar are sentenced to death in the al-Dujail
trial for the role in the massacre of the 148 Shi'as in 1982.
2009 – US Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan
kills 13 and wounds 29 at Fort Hood, Texas in the deadliest mass shooting at a US
military installation.
..... we can only hope this freak is put to death! He does not deserve to
live and have his life paid for by the citizens of the US!
And births this date include....
Speaking of birthdays..... a special friend, Greg Lundell (Wilson S'63) is
celebrating today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREG!!!! (Glad to see you are finally catching
up to me!) You and Becky have a great day!
Wasn't he the cutest thing~ And Greg was the voice of Wilson Radio. He was
the DJ and played music during lunch. SEXY radio voice!!!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Monday. Ciao

Donut Appreciation Day (and boy do I appreciate
donuts!)
If you lived in Los Angeles area you probably saw at one time or another Randy's Donuts in Inglewood....
And for me the special donut shop was Winchell's in Temple City....
On my first date with Jerry, in Steve's borrowed Porsche, after dinner
Jerry drove up on the sidewalk in front of Winchell's and ordered two coffees
from the walk up window! LOL. Nut. Of course it was one of the local Deputy
hangouts!

What a full post today!
Herman's Hermits was the first album I purchased. Simon and Garfunkel the longest line at actual concert I ever stood in.
The government always exempts itself. Darn shameful. Generally reeks of arrogance
The attack at Fort Hood should have been labeled a terror attack and dealt with that much seriousness. Justice requires the victims get their due. The only reason they were where they were at was their service to this country. That should be honored.
The first albums I bought were Frank Sinatra! Never went to a rock concert, went to Country Western concerts! You are right about the gov'ment and the terrorsit attack! xo
OMG Can you imagine getting a donut and coffee for 16 cents? How things have changed!
Great job with talking to "R" people who haven't voted in awhile. My hunch is after these past four years they will be out in droves to vote!
Love love Dave's signs!! What a HOOT! I have never met him but love that guy! :)
XO Trisha
One thing I noticed, T, about talking to folks about the election, most of the Dems always have frowns! Weird, huh? R's are very friendly and upbeat.
Yes, PJ and Dave are great. I am surrounded by R's up here. As I said some time before, I only know 4 Dems out of the several hundred folks I know. Of course all the Deputies are conservative... there's a lot of them! xoxo
Oh forgot to mention the Ft. Hood murderer! YES he should be put to death sooner and NOT later! There is no question as to what he did!
Here in Calif. we have a proposition on the ballot asking to eliminate the death penalty for life in prison without possibility of parole. They say it's cheaper than the death penalty because of all the appeals! Well IMHO today with DNA there can't be any mistakes made so put those suckers to death sooner! Would you believe the Night Stalker, Richard Ramariz (sp) is still alive and breathing after all these years? Also that monster who raped and murdered little Polly Class (sp).
It just doesn't make sense to prolong all these appeals at tax payers expense when the evidence is clear!
XO Trisha
Great Sue, I have to find the iPhone ad to re-post on my FB page. Saying prayers for tomorrow. As always, very entertaining, but I missed any mention of FOOD!! Keep it up!
Gail
@ T, AMEN!
@ Gail....sorry, wasn't up to cooking yesterday after waling all over town. Today will for sure. xo
Hey,
Wow, I showed Becky your HB greeting, and your sweet
blog recognition. She loved both of them.
Thanks for the shout out; I needed that bit of
morale booster today. (Gosh, although the youngsters
insist that 60 is the new 40, they can't say that 67 is the
new 47.)
okay, off to the races.... bye.
Greg
