Asparagus 'n Eggs ~ Bruiser ~ Homemade Soup ~ Football

Good 41º cloudy morning. Supposed to stay dry for a few days. Good, then I can get Jason up here to blow the leaves off my road.

Breakfast yesterday was GREAT. Put a few twirls of olive oil in a frying pan. Add the cut up asparagus, taking off the tough end. Sprinkle with garlic powder. Cook them on a med-high heat for about 3-4 minutes. Scramble the eggs and add, turning down the heat. Stir and flip the mixture until done. Add Parmesan cheese (or any yellow or white cheese!). Plate and enjoy!

Bruiser came in the house yesterday, while Harley was locked in the bathroom to avoid any confrontation. He was nosey and happy. Purred and purred. He laid down next to my chair and kept purring. Funny boy. So glad he's healthy again.

Of course Mr. Nosey had to see what was on my desk that had me so interested!

Then later Maggie and Bruiser were napping next to each other on the porch!

1938 – Rich Little, Canadian comedian and actor

Dinner yesterday (and breakfast this morning...) was soup made in the crockpot. I had some chicken base left in the pot from cooking chicken for Maggie so added to that some chicken stock, onion soup mix, a can of chicken (I needed to use), peas, tomatoes (both diced big ones and grape tomatoes), carrots, mushrooms, garlic, and basil. AND one of my favorite pastas, Anellini! (little circles) All this an attempt to clean out the fridge and cupboard! (Now I know Patty you are turning up your nose at the basil and Jeannie doesn't like peas..... so don't put them in! Put in what you like!)

Absolutely DE-LISH!!!

Re Football Sunday.... too bad the NYGiants beat Green Bay! (38-10) I know Jeannie is happy re the 49ers win over the Saints. (31-21) Santistevens are happy the Bears womped the Vikings. (28-10) I am happy the Bengals took out the Raiders! (34-10) Brian is happy his Colts squeaked past Bill's Bills! (20-13) <g> Miami sneezed and took out the Seahawks. (24-21) And I'm sure Cliff is sad the Ravens barely over his Chargers. (16-13) Tonight is going to be a yawner... Panthers and Eagles.

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Monday. Ciao.

November 26th
National Cake Day

Here is one of my favorite cakes... German Chocolate Cake:
only a different way to make it....

Mix the can of frosting into the cake mix along with the other ingredients. Eat plain or dust with powdered sugar or melt caramels and drizzle over the top.

So today I can make cake and eat it, too?):-

The scrambled eggs with asparagus looks divine. Haven't done that in a while. Thank you for the inspiration.

Yes, L, it's your day for cake. Try making one without the eggs and oil, like I posted on Nov 16th with only cake mix and diet or regular soda or seltzer. Really good!!! Light and fluffy. Less fat.

The eggs and asparagus WERE devine!!! Yummmmmmm.... xoxo

S,
Never thought of asparagus with eggs. Looks oh so yummy!
Loved the soup too!
Many years after Thanksgiving I would make soup from the carcass but this year it was so hectic and with Daryl having to carve three turkeys it was just too much trouble to save any of them. So over the back fence they went for the wild animals.

Loved seeing Bruiser so healthy and happy! He's such a cutie! Too bad he and Harley can't see eye to eye! :) Does Bruiser let you hold him on your lap?

XO Trisha

Ha ha ha, T, you know me....I can combine anything! I miss not having a turkey carcass. As for Bruiser, he lets me pick him up, he will climb on the chair with me, but not in my lap yet. xo
