Good 49º morning.
Yesterday was busy, trip to the vet with Maggs and then an appointment in
the afternoon with my ENT Dr. Reeck in Medford.
Jay Reeck, MD
Ear, Nose, Throat, Head and Neck Surgeon; Otolaryngology
Super neat guy, nice, fun to talk to. This seems to be where the only ENT
doctors are in the region. Patients come from No. California, Nevada, and
Central Oregon.
After all those weird tests (hot and cold air blown into my ears and photos
of my eyeballs.....) he said there is absolutely nothing wrong with my ears...
equilibrium... or balance center in my brain. See.... every test comes back
10-4!!! Sigh.
Ok, so that over I headed to The Mediterranean in Grants Pass and hooked up
with Dee&Dale, Joe&JoAnn, Jeannie&Bill. Retsina, martinis,
chardonnay, & champagne were the drinks. We indoctrinated our new server,
Carson. He is very nice and makes a great martini!
Jeannie had the appetizer with pita and garlic bread..Babaganoush, creamy
feta, and olive tepenade.
Bill had the Caesar Salad with seared Ahi ....
And I had my standby and favorite .... Moussaka with Potato Cakes..
I got extra potato cakes so I could have a couple for breakfast with eggs
on top! Sooooooo good!
Here is the whole motley crew. We got together because Joe and JoAnn were
over here from Depoe Bay for her dad's birthday....
L-R me, Jeannie, Dee, Dale, JoAnn, Joe, Billy
Historically this date....
1985 – Tipper Gore and other
political wives form the Parents Music
Resource Center as Frank Zappa and other
musicians testify at U.S. Congressional
hearings on obscenity in rock music.
And births this date include...
All I know. Happy Hump Day. Ciao.

Sue, I think you have an animal on your chest in that photo! :)It reminds me of the shirt we gave John with a giant pig. It is hilarious!
Your food looks the best! What is Moussaka? Great friends, great drinks and great food! What fun!
Love Bill Medley! Such memories the R. Brothers songs bring back!
Vickie, a high school friend and I saw their show in Vegas and I cried cause I couldn't believe I was there seeing them in person. Loved those guys!!
Good news from the doc! Such a mystery tho!

T, yes, it's a lion...of the same genre as John's pig shirt.
Moussaka is made with eggplant, this one has ground lamb and beef... Wiki says:
The modern Greek version was probably invented by Tselementes in the 1920s.[3] It has three layers: a bottom layer of sautéed aubergine slices; a middle layer of cooked ground lamb cooked with onion, garlic, chopped tomatoes, herbs, and spices (cinnamon, allspice and black pepper); and a top layer of béchamel sauce or egg custard. The composed dish is baked until the top layer is browned. Moussaka is usually served lukewarm.
