Good 48º little tiny clouds morning.
Maggie and I headed out early to the vets for her suture removal...
Let's hope that is the end of surgeries for my girl!
Today is 9-18.... a radio code for 'insane person'. 417 and 918 is a dangerous combination. But, that describes a lot of my friends! LOL. A few ago it was 9:18 on 9-18.
Yesterday I met Nancy and PJ at PJ's and we drove to Medford. We arrived at
'38 Central' and had a glass of wine. Jeannie and Bill got there and then
Larraine and her daughters. This was a fund raiser for 'Doug Breidenthal for Commissioner'. We were all seated at the only table
for 8. So, here we were, Bill and seven women!
L-R Larraine, Denise, Debbie, PJ, Nancy, me, Jeannie, and of course...
Bill! (he looks miffed, but he really did enjoy the meal! and...he got home in
time to see the Monday Night Football!)
Doug arrived but his wife was working til about 8pm. Darn.
His campaign manager, Laura, was there. So nice. Glad I got to finally meet
her!
And I got to visit a bit with old friends, Jan and Sal Esquivel. Sal serves
in the Oregon House of Representatives for District 6, which is Medford. Jan is
past President of JCRW.
Dinner was WONDERFUL! Salad of fresh mixed greens, salmon was on a bed
of tri color orzo with a lemon sauce and spinach, and dessert was 'flourless' chocolate
cake with raspberry sauce! OMGood!
Denise and Bill
had the tri tip which they both said was really good. I will go back to this
place! AND... I heard their 'mac & cheese' is awesome! I met Dave, the owner, nice guy~!
The restaurant, serving lunch and dinner, is at 6th and Central. If you park in the structure on 6th Street you can enter the restaurant from the first floor of the parking structure.

National Cheeseburger Day
(In-N-Out ... be still my heart!)
... Hmmm... how about a Greek Cheeseburger....
These burgers are deliciously seasoned with oregano, onion and garlic.
They're topped with crumbled feta cheese and fresh baby spinach for even greater
flavor. That and a glass of retsina... HEAVEN!
(Retsina is a unique wine product made almost exclusively in Greece. It is
made with a base of white or rosé wine that is flavored with pine resin. The
wine is quite pungent, and not to everyone's taste. However, the Greeks have
been making and drinking it for over three thousand years, and people often find
it more enjoyable when it is paired with Greek foods. Retsina also varies widely
in quality, and an inferior product can taste suspiciously like turpentine.
Consulting the staff at a Greek wine store may be the best way to find a good
wine.

Were there many folks in attendance?

Sad we don't have an In-N-Out close! As for the dinner, it seems as if most tables were filled. Another goup was going to be there for dinner at 7:30 also. I hope that went well too.
Going to have to find the rose and pine wine you mention.
Be careful with pine infused wine. Stick with a brand you like or you many think you are tasting pine-sol.
Fun time last night. Thanks again for the invite, and boy oh boy, Billy does look really excited. LOL
OMG In-n-Out be still me stomach.
Maggie does not seem overly thrilled to be in the car. She must have known where she was headed. Poor baby. I too hope no more surgeries for her.
Off to finish my chores. Ciao for now and see ya later. xo
Jeannie
Glad you enjoyed it J&B !! I was glad you joined us. See ya later...xo
L, the pine resin taste is something ot be acquired. Jerry and I first had it at the Pomona Fair. Didn't like it at first, but it grew on us. I love it now! When I ordered some in Greece the little waitress said, "that is the wine all the drunks drink" !! Fine. Get me some!!!! LOL
Thank you for such kind words about 38 Central! We are always glad to see happy guests! Hope to see you soon~
