Good 58º clear soon to be hotter than HEQQ morning!
Watched the closing ceremonies last night. Disappointed, but then the
musicians were British, mostly, and not my kind of music. Some of it I downright
didn't like. Like this group...
.... and they did a lot of weird stuff....
It was fun seeing the faces of the athletes though. Happy people!
An LASD friend, Bob Mallon, sent me his recipe for limoncello. You take the
skin off 8 lemons, put that in a jar with Everclear for 7 days. Make a simple
syrup, cool and add it to the mixture. Strain and bottle. Keep in the freezer. I
have to say, never tasted Everclear (190 proof!) before and this will take the
top of your head clean off! Going to try it from the freezer.
I did mix a shot with some tonic water and that was refreshing!
Problems with immigration are worldwide... illegals seeking asylum in
England:
Thanks to my Greece traveling friend, Pat Kelly, for this!
Dinner last night was good! I cook a chicken in the crockpot once a week
for Maggie with no seasoning other than olive oil. It leaves the juices gelled.
I refrigerate that and then scrape off all the fat. So, left with a good cooking
stock/base.
I put that in the crockpot along with 3 chicken breasts and lots of garlic.
Cooked on high for 1 hour and added a jar of my marinara sauce and a
bunch of mushrooms.....
After about 3 hours I added red wine and the raviolini and cooked on low for 2 hours more.
A birthday today is celebrated by my friend Pat Reardon (LASD Ret). HAPPY
BIRTHDAY PATRICK!!!

National Left Handers Day
Left Handers, also commonly referred to as Southpaws, are the brunt of more than their share of jokes all year long. It ain't easy being a leftie. But those who are, would have it no other way. Lefties are proud of it. The world is built for right handers. Examples are everywhere. For example:
In school, have you ever seen a left handed desk? They don't exist.
Many left handed items cost more.
Novelty coffee mugs are made with the picture or text for a right handed
pick-up.
Scissors are for right handers. Only a lefty would understand this.
The computer mouse you are using as you read this is designed for right
handers.
