.... cute babies! too much eye make-up, now, girls!
Yesterday was fun!
I met Jeannie, Donna, and Dee in town in RR and sadly, Cathy, could not
join us. We headed to Jacksonville.... I took their picture and then I HAD to
have mine taken too. Awful!
First was shopping. We stopped in the Mercantile ( http://www.jacksonvillemercantile.com/ )
... the most fun place to shop. David (owner) treated us to a tasting of some
Spanish wine..."Tarantas" a light 'dry' rosé with lots of
raspberry and strawberry tones. I liked it and bought 2 bottles! Also we
purchased the last three of his Sonoma Pepper (lemon orange pepper blend) ... I
got a 'Smoked Bacon Chipotle Sea Salt' (OMG GOOD!) and a rub for meats and
salmon made with 'coffee, chili peppers, brown sugar, and spices'. There are
always lots of things to taste in the Mercantile .... flavored oils, salts, and
balsamic vinegars. Going to have some cooking fun!
Lunch was going to be at the Jacksonville Inn, but they are closed on
Monday and Tuesday. Our second choice was Bella Union
.. also great food! We ate outside on the patio. Donna and Jeannie split a
'turkey sandwich - sliced deli turkey w/ cream cheese and cranberry sauce on
house baked cranberry sourdough' and Donna had the 'soup of the day - tomato
basil'.
Dee had a Caesar salad.
I had the 'California Street calamari sandwich ' abalone style calamari
grilled with lemon pepper, topped with Swiss cheese and a dollop of guacamole,
served with Caesar salad'.
.... we all had wine....
Unfortunately I had the view of this white couple, who, with their
Rastafarian hair (?? come on) ..... were ugly, rude, loud, and on 'something'!
I can imagine how bad they must have smelled up close and she had this ring in
her nose that just plain made me cringe! Nice, the way she wore that stupid hat
too!
After lunch it was more shopping. When we got back to Rogue River they
dropped me off and the girls went back to Grants Pass and Jeannie, a 'nervous
Nellie', found that Chaka after spending her first day all alone at home
on the deck was fine! Yeah! I went to the market and then home to my chair! Nap
time!!!
This came from former Wilsonite, Arlon Webb.... by way of his cousin... a
ton of memories here. Enjoy!

June 13th is Kitchen Klutzes of America
Day
There's a difference between home cookin' and a home that's cooking. If fire, knives, hot metal, and boiling liquids spell "DANGER" in your kitchen, you are an unofficial honoree of Kitchen Klutzes of America Day. Broken glass, spilled milk, slick wet floors, all of these are harbingers of heartbreak for the dyed-in-the-wool Kitchen Klutzes of America!
