Good 57º raining morning. Over 1/4" since late yesterday afternoon.
Didn't get up early.... I just laid in bed listening to the rain. Heavenly.
It is a Full Moon so be careful out there... had a feeling it was full enough
yesterday on my way over to Bill and Jeannie's with all the nut cases driving
out there! One of the times when I wished my truck had some white on it and a
blinky blinky and a whoooo whoooo and I had a ticket book!!!
Yesterday Harley wanted to go outside.... I reluctantly let him out the
back door..he normally goes around the house, ends up on the front porch and
wants in. I heard his weird howling and looked out to see 'Casper' and Harley
face to face. I ran out and grabbed up Harley, as that young cat would tear up
the old man! When I grabbed Harley he must have thought the other cat was
attacking him and he screamed and claws were flying! OMG. 'Casper' hung out and
had a bite to eat I set out for her in the bed of the golf cart. I managed to
get a couple of pictures before she disappeared again....
As I was heading out to Bill and Jeannie's... I saw Mr. Coyote in the
neighbors property, near their goats. The goats had a steady bead on him, but I
stopped at Frank & Cindy's to tell them.. since their door was open so their
Jack Russell, Lucy, could go in and out.... "keep that little girl inside!".
Had a fun time with my pals. Bill wants to thank Brian for the porch heater
Jeannie couldn't live without! <g> We had cocktails on the deck, rain coming down,
and the heater was working perfectly!
Chaka was her charming self!
Dinner was awesome. Bill cooked some big fat boneless pork chops on a plank
in the barbecue. Tender and juicy! Jeannie made a beautiful salad with homegrown
greens. We tossed some broccoli with olive oil (and garlic powder, sea salt,
pepper, and Bob's!) and roasted it in the oven. I brought some strawberries,
raspberries, blueberries, a banana, and angel food cake. Mixed all the berries
with Orangecello (I didn't have any limoncello, which is what I preferred...)
Refrigerated it. Put some chunks of cake in
the bottom of a bowl, added the berries on top. Giada makes this but adds mint
and basil leaves on top... real simple and real good!
The Iowa eaglets are growing.....
Two birthdays of special people today...
My JCRW friend Val Smullen is celebrating her 80th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY VAL!!!
She is a lovely English lady who has a fabulous golden retriever named
Jonah, who keeps her bed warm while she is away! Good boy, Jonah!!!
(giggle)
.... and Tim Rosa, aka the "Timinator".... is celebrating his 52nd... just
a baby still! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIM.
Maybe sucking all that blood has kept you young! LOL.
Historically this date... a bunch of stuff happened.
And births this date include....
So I said to him, "Barack, I know Abe Lincoln, AND you ain't Abe
Lincoln..."
Obama has made numerous attempts to quote Lincoln, SO WHY DOESN'T
OBAMA USE THIS FAMOUS LINCOLN QUOTE:
"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the
weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging
thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You
cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build
character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence. You
cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could or should do
for themselves." .....Abraham Lincoln

National Hug Your Cat Day
In Ancient Egypt, cats were revered and even worshipped as symbols of grace and poise. Take a cue from the Ancient Egyptians and put your cat on a pedestal today! It’s definitely a great opportunity to thank your cat for all those times he or she has curled up next to you after a long day.
Did you know that showing your furry friend some affection can actually reduce anxiety? In fact, it’s proven that hugs from animals can lower a person's blood pressure and decrease stress. So go ahead, give your cat a nice, big hug (and while you’re at it, throw in some grooming and a little catnip too!)

Thanks for yesterday! Learned tons on the computer and sooooo appreciate it, along with the thumb drive. You're the best! Your dessert was delicious. I don't appreciate, however, the ugly picture you posted of me on this blog! I told you not to, and obviously you did not listen. I'll get even, some how. LOL
What a great day this is! Cheese day, can't get any better than that.
Funny about Harley and Casper. Your lucky you didn't get all scratched up.
Have a wonderful day. xo Thanks again!
Jeannie
