Good 45º clear sunny morning. Yesterday was a pretty day.. stayed
cloudy and the predicted thunderboomers never materialized. Yeah. Maggie doesn't
like those!
Today has been designated as Peace Officer Memorial Day
Raul Gama you are still missed! RIP my
friend.
Ok, this is cop humor, and some of you may not appreciate it or get
it, but that's ok. When I first saw this video I was laughing and so enjoying
it. (Thanks Terry Bonyea!) Besides, I love Inner Circle and "whatcha gonna do
when they come for you.... bad boys bad boys" ..... This in honor of all peace
officers everywhere!
When I was working the desk (911 & calls for service) at ELA Station, I
had a similar bumper sticker...it said "Call 911 - I make cops come" ...
Well...................... one of the really prudish beeotchy secretaries (who
should have NEVER been working in a male dominated environment) complained to
the Capt about the bumper sticker. Swell. Called into Captain's office. He
apologized, and I said, "for him" I'd remove it so the sophomoric little girl
would get off his back!
Geesh! Everyone else liked it!
For those of you whom I sent the story of the guy pulling a knife on my
friend Kio and his date in W. Hollywood the other night... here is KTLA's news
spot on it...
Historically this date...
1905 – Las Vegas, Nevada, is
founded when 110 acres (0.45 km), in what later would become downtown, are
auctioned off.
1969 – People's Park:
California Governor Ronald Reagan has an
impromptu student park owned by University of California at Berkeley fenced off
from student anti-war protestors, sparking a riot called Bloody Thursday.
1970 – President Richard Nixon appoints Anna Mae Hays and Elizabeth P.
Hoisington the first female United States Army Generals.
2010 – Jessica Watson becomes
the youngest person to sail, non-stop and unassisted around the world
solo.
... just amazing at 16 years of age!
And births this date include...
1895 – Prescott Bush, American
banker, politician and member of the Bush family (d. 1972) (GHW's
dad)
Ok, Dwayne Honeeee P-burger sent this. It will make you laugh... so true...

Dinner was an Ocean Mist® Artichoke. MMMMMMM MMMMMMM and I served it with
Baconnaise and Best Foods...
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday. Ciao.

Sue,
Wonderful your post for Police officers.
Funny story re the bumper sticker! Can't imagine a secretary going to the captain over that! What an uptight beotch!! Would John remember her?
Also funny was the "Memories" video. That gal has a great voice and yes I can relate to the words! LOL I am thinking the secret to remembering is to write a note to yourself and leave it in plain sight. When John asks me to turn on the water in his veggie garden I write a note and leave on the counter saying "Water". Then I don't forget to turn if OFF!! lol
Pitiful.
Beautiful artichokes! Can you really eat TWO? I used to make just one for the whole family. Everyone got his own little bowl of butter for dipping. It was just a side dish to the meal. Love them but they are so expensive down here.
Hugs XO Trisha
I have no idea if John would remember the secretary, I don't... just her bitching.... LOL. Yes, notes. We all do that! As for the artichokes, I usually cook two and eat the other a day or so later. These Ocean Mist at Wal-Mart were $2 each. xo
I think that is a funny bumper sticker you had. What is wrong with some people? We've become a nation of pricks who get offended at anything.
Oh, my gosh that memory song is so me! I do crossword puzzles to grow new brain cells, but I think I don't do enough of them :/ Thanks for a heartfelt laugh!
Have a great day. Erika
