Good 41º foggy morning. Good grief, I slept til 7:45!!! Unheard of. Must have needed that!
It rained on and off all day yesterday. We got another 3/4" so this storm has dropped 2 1/2" here. In other places it was 3-6". The coast got a lot. Snow on the mountains. Shasta ski opened, finally, as did Ashland. The summit this morning looks cold....
..... and even snow at Hilt!!
Normally the California side is clear and sunny!
Checked with my nephew's family and friends in the Reno area to see if the fire was a danger to them. All ok so far. Joe Biden was at the school and giving a speech my niece said, and was told of the imposing fire. Didn't seem to bother him, he talked another 20 minutes! Yikes!
Yesterday I went to Costco. Always a fun shopping trip! I bought a new spice. It's called Simply Asia ....a blend of ginger, toasted sesame seeds, garlic, bell peppers, and soy sauce. OH MY GOOD!
Then to Black Oak Medical for a pulmonary test. While I was waiting in the lobby I chatted with a darling couple, married 47 years, James and Barbara. We talked about popcorn and about the bacon salt I had recently purchased. They were having company and she was going to check out some of my popcorn "recipes" from yesterday's blog. I gave her a card with my blog info on it. She emailed me later that they had gone to the Thunderbird Market and found the J&D Bacon Salt there and had it on their popcorn last evening. Cool.
The tech was Linda. Very sweet, pretty, and we chatted a lot! The test lasted an hour. You sit in a glass cage, like a phone booth, and have these breathing tubes you have to breath into...
After about 35 minutes of breathing tests I sat with a breathing machine and inhaled albuterol for 10 minutes and then took some of the breathing tests again to see if the albuterol made a difference. Will see the doc next Thursday to get the results and see what can be done about my constant coughing.
Pretty drive home.....
The lumber mill was going full steam!
For dinner I had thawed some white fish and some steamer veggies. I coated the fish with olive oil, mixed the Simply Asia seasoning with Panko and coated the fish. Baked it for about 15 minutes then added the steamers and roasted them along with the fish. WOW. GOOD!
Historically this date.....
So, check out the founder...... no wonder they are assholes!
The first 'chairman' of the ACLU was Harry F. Ward:
(1873–1966) was an American Methodist minister and left-wing activist. He was the first chairman of the ACLU, leading the group from its creation in 1920 until 1940. Ward was a prominent defender of Soviet Communism even if he did not label himself as a Communist.
..........................and a bunch of other 'stuff' happened...........
And births this date include.....
Never could stand her acting ... especially her voice!

OMG! I can eat cheese all day long! Yippee. LOL
The fish looked wonderful. Must get some of that seasoning.
Hate to have to admit to this, but what movies did Patricia Neal act in? I cannot place her at all. Oh well.
Can't wait to find out what your doctor says. That was quite some testing you went through!
xo and have a wonderful day!
Jeannie
Hey Cheese Girl..... click on Neal's name, it's a link, and will tell you her movies.
You have a wonderful day too. See you later over pizza! xo
Sue,
Oh be still my heart! (not really lol)I will just HAVE to have a Maggie today to celebrate National Margarita Day!! Thanks for the tip! :)
LOVED the looks of your dinner. The thing that struck me the most is what a wonderful looking PAN that is! Is it new? You would CRINGE if you were to see my awful looking cookie sheet type pans! I have to cover them with foil before using because they are so ugly!
Loved George Burns. I think I told you the story about mother playing 21 next to him in Tahoe and chatting with him. She had no clue as to who he was until I whispered in her ear. He invited us to his show that night. Very nice. Gracie had died not too long before that and he brought tears to our eyes during his show while talking about her.
John is up there with the bad weather. If it's still raining he will come home early.
XO Trisha
Trish, my pans were awful too so I bought new ones about 10 years ago. They do not get cruddy like the old ones did. Fun about George Burns! xo
