Good 20º frozen morning! Dang! It's freekin' cccccold!
Maggie's water frozen. Hummingbird feeder frozen. Grass frozen. Trees frozen. ... Drinking hot tea. Would like to be swimming in it!
First of all I changed the Tex Mex Mac & Cheese recipe after I made it yesterday. 5 1/2 - 6 hours is too long to cook it. Just cook it on low for about 2 1/2 hours, add the cooked pasta, and turn it to 'warm'. It sure was GOOD!!!! Will be making that baby again. And I like my black olives whole. The whole wheat spirals were good, not as 'pretty', but better health wise.
Tuesday there suddenly appeared a herd of elk in my pasture.
It was still pretty dark and hard to get a clear picture... They hung out for a while and then headed up the hill and probably towards my pond....
And then yesterday .................. I heard this loud noise and it sounded like it was coming from the roof! I looked out and here were two big old turkeys on my electric wires coming from the pole to the house............ !
The first pictures I took through the window, thinking I would scare them. Not. So I went out on the porch and got these. Goofy birds. I told them "good morning" and they flew down, hoping for a treat of some kind, no doubt!
I don't know how many of you know about the lady who was out jogging with her dog in Florida and she was hit and killed by a drunk. The dog, injured, swam out a mile into the Gulf and was rescued by a kayaker. This site has the story and a video of him being rescued and pulled into the kayak. Amazing.

National Pharmacist Day
(Hug your pharmacist! As for meds, they know more than the docs.... great people to get advice from!)
Definition of a Pharmacist
Wikipedia encyclopedia tells us "Pharmacists
are health professionals who practice the
art and science of pharmacy." "In their
traditional role, pharmacists typically take
a request for medicines from a prescribing health
care provider in the form of a medical prescription
and dispense the medication to the patient and counsel them on the proper use and adverse effects of that
medication."

Sorry about not commenting on your blog. I think you know why, but I'm back.
Cannot wait to make the Tex Mex Mac and Cheese. Sounds so easy and yummy. That is so odd with the Turkeys. Looked like the position they were in was not comfortable!
Tried to pull up the site with the "rescue dog" and it would not open. Will try again later, what a great story.
Thanks again for taking the time to do your blog, which we all enjoy. Very appreciated. Have a super day. xo Jeannie
By the way, Cheers was the best, still can watch it late night TV.
My KINGDOM to wake up to the wildlife you do!! Breathtaking pictures, Sue! I might try that TexMex mac 'n cheese, but not very soon. I made a lobster mac 'n cheese last week (Bobby Flay recipe)... one serving each and the rest went down the garbage disposal (before picking out the lobster pieces, of course!!). NOT GOOD at all! What a waste of ingredients!

Hi Sue: Whatever you do, don't stop blogging. I read it everyday and share it with Alex. We get a kick out of your pictures, he loves to look at the "great" people's birthdays and I print out at least 1-2 recipes a week. Keep up the good work. Interesting as all get out. We really like it. Kathy
