Good 39º morning. It was sprinkling at 4:15 when Maggie had to go out and pee. Stopped now. 20% chance of rain today. Nothing on the radar.
Yesterday some folks asked me about 'my soldier'... a picture please. The USMC Birthday was his also. Yes, Jerry was a Marine for 5 years and later he joined the CAL-ARNG. He was a Sgt. and taught classes at Camp San Luis Obispo and bivouacked at Camp Roberts. I think the only reason he didn't join a USMC Reserve unit was because they were so far away .... down in Orange County. Here he is in his finest....

I get a blog from my friend Sheila Foy's daughter, Shirah. In yesterdays was a video taken in Ireland on the River Shannon by Sophie Windsor Clive of a phenomenal bird show. It gives me goosebumps to watch. Amazing....

Maggs just lay on her 'princess bed' and watched...
Sorry, didn't cook yesterday. Had lots of reruns to go through, although I did cook a couple of artichokes. I always put lemon juice over them, garlic powder, olive oil, salt and pepper. The house smelled heavenly!

Thanks BFF. Yes, he was cute, but alas only 17! When you toss the boy's vice principal out his office window and his desk on top of him you get arrested. Then in court the judge said, "You can either go to jail or see the Marine Recruiter in the back of the courtroom. He joined. Best thing he ever did. One of his life's passions was the Marine Corps. Later his classmates would find it hard to believe he became a Deputy Sheriff! 30 years worth of another of his passions!
UGH! I would rather look at a decomp then a can of anchovies! Disgusting things!
Oh, Ike! You know, you can't make good marinara sauce without 'melting' a few of them in the hot olive oil first. They become 'non fishy' and impart a sweet nutty flavor. Really! I know, right out of the can they sort of taste like a dead fish scraped off the wharf, but cooked, they are heaven.
You won't believe this but, Katrina and I are watching a Mariah Carey concert right now, one of her old ones and she is singing this song I don't know the name, but some of the words are "I know you're shining down on me from heaven". And now she is sing "My Hero". These songs always makes me cry, but just as I opened your blog....I saw the pictures of Jerry, so handsome and young!! And the one with the cigar...what a sexy dude he was!! I am crying like a baby. I loved looking at these pictures, and really loved that you posted them. He truly was one of my Hero's ;'-( and we loved him alot. And we love you too Sisterfriend!!! Muah!!!!
