Mo' Weather ~ Boring Day ~ Slo-Cooker Apple Brown Betty

 

Good 44º cloudy 91% humid morning. Nothing to see....

 

Rained nearly all night. 70% chance of rain today. Pollen count .50 out of 12.

 

 

 

We got another 1/3" of rain on top of the 1/4" from the night before.

 

Yesterday was one of those memorable exciting days.... laundry, vacuuming, and steam cleaning the kitchen floor. Thought it was interesting that Amanda Knox got to come home from Italy. I also made some egg rolls ... recipe to follow later. The turkeys visited....

 

It stayed cloudy and gloomy (I love it!) all day.... (2pm:)

 

 

And Maggs did her best to hold down the porch....

 

The other night I had Tivo'd three shows on our local Ch 10 to watch last night ... and none of them recorded. There was a message on the screen saying "Sorry for the inconvenience. No need to call us ... service will be restored as soon as technical difficulties are resolved." Grrrrrrr... my Hawaii Five-0 was one of the shows not recorded. Dang.

National Apple Betty Day

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

 

SLOW COOKED APPLE BROWN BETTY:

3 c. apples-peeled, cored, and diced
10 slices whole wheat bread, cubed
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. sea salt
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 butter, melted

Place apples into the crockpot. In a bowl, toss together the bread cubes, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and sugar. Place on top of the apples and drizzle with melted butter. Cover and cook on LOW for 3 hours, or until apples are tender.
