Good 47º morning. Foggy. Yesterday was too in the morning, but sun came out!
So, yesterday Linda and I went "shopping"... Big Lots, Grocery Outlet, Dollar Store..... Fun. Got some interesting wine at Grocery Outlet...Au Chardonnay, Flying Winemaker Chardonnay, Wild Hare Cabernet, California 41st Av Chardonnay, and Black Oak Shiraz.
Then a stop at Brian's State Farm office...
... and onto Blondie's Bistro for lunch....
Linda had crab cakes and I had the eggplant hummus with pita bread...
We had wine in Blondie's etched wine glasses and asked if they were for sale. Yes! Linda bought us each one!
Then when they brought the bill for the glasses the pen with the receipt was one of Brian's State Farm pens! I said, "That's my son". The waitress, a blonde... natch, said, "Oh yes, the tall blonde.... we know him. He's nice."
Then... we stopped at Chocolate Affair .. a bakery, and Linda bought cookies!!! OH MY GOOD. Then the last stop was the Elks. I got to use my card! Ok, so with the help of Liz, who works there as a waitress, I managed to get it to work in the door. Surprise of all surprises, Jeannie and Bill were there! We had a wine with them. Fun.
Came home. Dinner was braised beef tips. Deglazed pan with white wine, added some chicken fat, added flour, added some beef base, and made the gravy with beef stock. Also added some cream cheese. Next was the beef tips into the gravy, some cooked yukon gold potatoes, and artichoke hearts. I cooked some of 7 Oaks corn on the cob and made a spread for it with pesto and mayonnaise....

It always ruins my day when I am reminded Jessie Jackass was born in the same year I was born. I hate having anything in common with him. It's OK Sue - I still luv ya!!! Ike
How Fun,...another nice day with great looking lunches
and friends to shop with. Your dinner looked good
enough to be in a magazine spread. You are living
the Good Life, Sue. Your entire day sounded like so
much fun. Cyndi
Sue,
Wow! What fun you and Linda are having! Love the wine glass but I really really love those beautiful Asian type plates for your lunch! They make the food look so delicious. I am sure it would have been just as good on paper plates but oh so glamorous looking.
Your dinner look so yummy. Lucky Linda!
Hugs, Trisha
Hi Sue,
WISH I was the Linda instead. . .all of my 'favorite' things!!!! WOOOHOOO!!!
HAPPY WEEKEND!!!
The Other Linda FROM HAPPYAPPLESVILLE!!!
Sorry to have missed your previous blogs ... GAWD, under the weather again! What a great day you and Linda had! Fun, fun. My friend from Vegas was here last weekend and she was greeted with my upchucking and back door problems, poor lady. She just became certified for massage and I had a great one on Sunday afternoon! Doctor ordered 100 blood tests and the tech ran out ... couldn't get anymore! No fun for me. They can't get veins and had to use a ped. needle! Dick bought a new car ... I'll e-mail pics. Enjoy your weekend. Peace here, bye week for the Rams! Sarah signing off ...
Sorry about your health problems. Hope they are resolved soon. As for previous blogs... archives on the left.... xo
Good afternoon! Aren't the Imagine organic broths the best! LOVE them.
I remember when Chevy Chase was funny. He got less charming with age, didn't he?
Stephanie Zimbalist. A classic beauty.
Thank you for such a nice welcome back to the blog world.
Yes, I am smitten with the Imagine broths. You are right about Chevy. No no no, thank you for reading. xo
