Good 49º morning. Yesterday we hit triple digits at 100º.
One of only a few this year.
Brian and Jen set up a birthday party picnic for me at Bridgeview Winery...
in Cave Junction. The winery has been there since 1986.
Their Blue Moon Chard is outstanding!
Sami got a ride in on the ice chest.
Jen and Jean had brought lots of goodies .. cheeses and sandwich fixin's. Jeannie brought a fruit tray.
Jen made lemon cupcakes and the frosting had
red sprinkles!
Lots of ducks, geese, 3 swans, and a gazillion large trout in the ponds.
The 'kids' (Tucker, Sami, Brian, and Bill) had a great time
feeding them all...
But then Sami accidentally dropped some little toy of
hers in the water... Brian and this fellow who worked there went into action to find the missing-probably-eaten-by-a-swan-or-duck-or-trout pink thingy....
No luck.
A wonderful relaxing afternoon with family and friends
and some good wine.
On the way home I captured the following pictures of
a local farm stand signs...
"Cron" ??? Cave Junction's reputation continues ....
Historically this date...
1781 – Los Angeles, California, is founded as El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora La Reina de los Ángeles de Porciúncula (The Village of Our Lady, the Queen of the Angels of Porziuncola) by 44 Spanish settlers.
1888 – George Eastman registers the trademark Kodak and receives a patent for his camera that uses roll film.
And births this date include...
and a sweet friend is celebrating today, Patty Hickey-McNaughton

Sue,
What a beautiful setting for a yummy picnic lunch with your kids and friends.
Wow! What a good dad to hang over that water to try to find Sami's toy.
