Good 44º sunny clear morning. Slept in again... until 7. Nice. Been needing that I guess.
Well, yesterday was our little guy's birthday. Tucker turned 7 but had a bug.... fever, cough. So, his birthday celebration dinner scheduled for Tap Rock was canceled and we are going to do it on Friday instead.
Yesterday I missed out on 'wine time' with Jeannie and Bill but she called me later and said she had fixed a pasta salad for dinner. What a good idea! I had a chicken breast marinating in pineapple juice and teriyaki sauce..... (Sorry, none of the prep pictures came out!) Grilled it on my George Foreman grill and then finished it up in the oven. The pineapple made it tender and sweet. Cooked radiatore pasta
, cooked al denté some carrots. Mixed pasta, carrots, cut tomatoes, bell pepper, black olives, sliced stuffed green olives, shredded cheese, celery, and the cut up chicken with a dressing of BF mayonnaise and wasabe teriyaki sauce and a lot of smoky sweet pepper seasoning and sesame oil.
Sadly the McCormick Smoky Sweet Pepper seasoning has been discontinued. Why? I don't know and it irks me!
Watched my favorite show last night, Hawaii 5 0. That Alex O'Loughlin is one of the best looking actors to come along in a while!
(This is me...Maxine and I!)

Interesting story about the B-29 (Yeah, I'm into WW II USAAF re-enactment). It had a reputation among pilots that it was difficult and dangerous to fly, so the officer in charge (Lt Col Paul Tibbets - Enola Gay / Hiroshima - THAT Paul Tibbets) made a couple of phone calls. Next day, he assembled the reluctant B-29 crews on the flight line and the watched as one came flying in, did several "difficult" maneuvers, circled the field a few times and came in with barely a squeal on tires on the pavement.
When the B-29 shut down on the ramp, the crew -- headed by Jacqueline Cochrane and a full crew of WASPs (Women Airforce Service Pilots) climbed out.
I don't know what was said, but I understand Tibbets never heard another word about how difficult the B-29 was to fly!
ROFLMAO!
XOXOXOXOX

Sue,
I should not read your blog until after lunch with a full tummy. Your food pics and recipes make my mouth water and tummy growl!!
I have always liked Nancy Travis too. What a sweetie she is.
So sorry about little Tucker being sick on his birthday. Poor baby. Hope he is better by the weekend.
XO Trisha
Thanks T. Yes, Brian sent me a note that Tucker went to school today, so he's a go for Friday's party.
