Good 55º early morning. Up too early. Can't sleep. Groan....
Yesterday I went into town to do some shopping. Got what PJ said was an awesome yellow jacket trap. It's called Victor Yellow Jacket Magnet. Hung it up right away. Now waiting for results.
Met Jeannie and Bill at the Elks for a little whine time with our favorite bartender Willie. We had fun. A couple came in from CA who were on their way home from Eugene visiting relatives. Bill and Michelle. Nice! Sat next to us. Then their friend came in. Bill. So it was Bill - Michelle- Bill - Sue - Jeannie - AND Bill! Geeze... even the bartender was a Bill!!! Bill and Michelle bought us drinks. VERY nice folks and we had a good time chatting with them. They live near Sacramento and ride Harleys. Whoot whoot..... Their friend Bill had on this shirt I loved....
Dang cops! What a bunch of party poopers!
LOL
Jeannie and Bill gave me some bounty from their garden...
See that cut tomato in front. With just a bit of sea salt it was HEAVEN!!!! Lord knows one of my most favorite foods is tomatoes. Jerry didn't like tomatoes until I had our first garden and I grew him some. "OMG, he said, these are GOOD!!!" Well, nothing better than home grown and ripened on the vine. Fruit of the Gods. Fresh ripe sliced tomato on sourdough bread with BF mayonnaise. Nothing better!
My "phone chain" Jeannie and Candy (thanks Bob!) called
me to say they heard thunder over in Grants Pass. So, I gave Maggs the tranquilizers and within 45 minutes she was like..... cool man.... like wow man... all relaxed and still awake but soooooooooooooooooo laid back and unconcerned. Of course
we never got the thunderboomers here, but glad to know the pills worked and I can use them if thunder does happen.

Oh Fresh Tomatoes! One of the best things we ever did for our children was go have them help with a vegetable path. At first bite- they learned to love fresh food.
Have used the wasp attractants. They do work- but I would advise hanging them away from the house. Any trees on the side, maybe?
PJ and Dave had one of those yellow jacket traps filled in a week. I only hung it on the porch to take a picture of it. Went to a tree....
I agree, there is nothing BETTER than a home grown tomato! Ernie grew them in Cabazon this summer (surprise) and he has shared with us, so next summer we'll grow, or try to grow, tomatoes. We have a lot of rabbits!
Interesting about Maggs. I took Valium for three days because I am being weaned off pain medication. Sleep ... what's that? I'm up after two or three hours.
Sarah signing off
Try growing your tomatoes in containers and if you have a wagon you can do like PJ and Dave, and bring them inside the garage at night.
Sue,
Oh I am so jesalous of those beautiful lush tomatoes! Ours have failed now two years in a row!
When my mother was growing up in Arkansas she said she loved to take a salt shaker out to her mother's garden and sit and eat tomatoes off the vine. Yum!
OMG it was Hotter than hell here yesterday! Too hot to even go in the pool!! UG!
XO Trisha
p.s. For years John has had to traps hanging from trees. Oh my they do stink!
Nothing tastes better than eating a tomato in the garden!
We grew our first tomatoes in containers to avoid critters. I'll give your suggestion to Dick, thanks!
