Good 47º clear sunny 78% humid morning. Beautiful day in the making. Got to sleep in today too.. 6am. Yeah!
This is too funny... Thanks Debbie for sharing... Cat gets caught 'barking' by it's human ... so resumes meowing.........??
My friend Sheila Foy has a beautiful, multi-talented daughter, Shirah,
,who travels the world and writes about the languages she has learned and the people she meets. She has the most fascinating blog... She takes classes, works in the US Embassy, shares her thoughts, reviews foods ... you need to check it out...
In her latest writings she is in the Ukraine. Wonderful pictures and stories.
When I was in the barn the other day I found my old briefcase. It has been sitting in there since we moved here in '98!
After cleaning it up I brought it in. Locks did not work so I had to pry them open. Nothing of value inside, just sales forms, some letters from my bosses in NY giving my sales stats and congratulations for doing well, business cards from customers, and a lot of memories.
Just an observation...
there must be no mirrors in the White House!

Good Lord!
Yesterday I went to the bank, pharmacy, market, and hardware store. I put money in the bank (a good thing). Got prescriptions (thank God I get 80% of that back!). Market for shrimp, red potatoes, buttermilk, sour cream, sharp cheddar cheese, jumbo eggs 2 for $3, and whole chickens 89¢ a pound. Came home and cooked shrimp, potatoes, and cleaned out the fridge. I was listening to the DirecTV radio, Malt Shop Oldies, and be-bopping around singing. Fun. Good thing no witnesses!!! LOL

And then a Ricky Nelson song came on ... and I cried! His voice holds some hefty memories. I was totally in love with him when I was 15. Had a huge picture of him on my notebook,
, all his records (45rpm and 78's) Then as a UPS driver, 1980 (20 years later)
,
(bad picture, but me with a 'fro' and can't remember the guy.. nice though) I delivered a package to his home in Hollywood on Mullholland Dr. He was coming out the gate and waved to me. I melted. Then 5 years later on New Year's Eve 1985 he died in a plane crash.
I waited 20 years to see him in person. Dang. Of course it's something I'll always remember fondly.
I cleaned out my refrigerator yesterday. What a good feeling to get that done. As my nephew Jim calls me "the condiment queen" but Jim, I got rid of a bunch of that!! You will be proud of me. So then Maggs and I took a ride to the trash can....
on the way back the puffy little clouds were pretty...
Dinner was the rest of the yummy smoked chicken Bill made and some asparagus stir-fried and served with Parmesan couscous and tomato...
It was soooooo good. Harley, the weird cat, climbed up on my lap and wanted to see what I was eating... well the funny guy wanted to eat the couscous! I gave him a couple bites of the chicken and he liked that too! Odd.

When in Jamaica (a trip from Fabergé), Jerry and I went to the Appleton Rum Distillery... took a tour bus and along the way they served a rum punch. Mmmm... Then on the way back all the men were napping!!! LOL

I liked Ricky Nelson too. Who our age didn't? His death was a shock.

It is truly sad that our first lady has so little respect for the office. They are such a joke. I thought she looked terrible at Betty Fords funeral. It is just another sign of how they thumb their noses at those of us still want our presidential family to at least "appear". Oh, and another thing, where's the damn dog we heard so much about?

Oh yeah, the White House residents make me so proud. NOt.
Sue, in my "running around" days.......I used to see Ricky at the drive-in restaurant in Hollywood about 2 a.m. ...can't remember the name but I think it might have been THE CLOCK or maybe BOB'S........I know we used to go to THE CLOCK DRIVIE DRIVEUP RESTAURANT IN HIGHLAND PARK. Sally
Sue,
What a lot of interesting stuff you posted today! I was soooo in love with Ricky! I was jealous when he got married. Ozzie & Harriet was my fvorite show. What a doll he was and those dreamy eyes.........melting.....
Oh dear, Modonna needs to always wear sleeves! That's what I do nowadays! As for Moochelle, it really infuriates me when the fashion pundits say she's a modern day Jackie O! When?? Where?? No way no how! I have never seen such a tacky dresser and those colors she puts together.....Oh don't get me started! lol
You sure have had an interesting life with all the jobs you've had. I'll bet Faberge was the most interesting. Love that! Why did you quit?
Your dinner looked fit for a magazine cover! Tomatoes are beautiful sitting there on that plate. Healthy eating magazine comes to mind!
Good one as usual!

Oh T, you are funny... "Moochelle". LOL. As for Faberge, the company was sold to Cheeseborough Ponds and they had a sales staff, so I was given 6 months pay and let go. That's when I started with our department. xo
