Good sunny clear 48º morning.
PJ and I went to the fair yesterday and had a blast! We were glad to see 'protection' was available....
We watched the jumping dog show, but couldn't focus on the dog very well... too much background...
I bought this hand embroidered lion picture. Told Curtis we'd be
back later to pick it up. LOL, forgot. Have to go back today....
This is Curtis....
Saw my pal Felicity Clark and Micah DuBeau at the Republican booth.
Bought this 'all natural' cleaner polish from this very darling funny lady. She cleaned my rings and glasses and OH MY, shiny and clear and I can see!!!
We saw animals ... pigs, goats (sooooo cute!) cows, llamas....
Then we sat in the shade with a glass of wine
and checked out the 'fair people' ... Raggedy Ann was there, Bubba, fashion plates (two sets of bra straps???), painted faces, and the short guy...
We watched the Oregon Fiddlers and the "Afro-Bats" (!! Yes, that's correct....from Kenya)
We saw Kevin Lollis, local Channel 10 weather guy,
filming. Stopped and chatted. His camera man, nice guy, took our picture. I told him I watch him every night. He laughed, and said, "You sound like my mother!" "Well, Kevin, I could be. My kids are your age!" LOL
PJ tried on some belly dancing stuff...
We had a fun chat with the gal taking photos for the fair and I got in some more of my own....
Really a great day. We were good too, didn't even eat any corn dogs (boo hoo) or funnel cake or elephant ears..... Then headed home... observing a trooper doing some of the Lord's work...
Picked up Dave and stopped in at Patty and Cliffs for a toddy and a chat. Now, I'll go back to the fairgrounds and get my lion picture in a bit...
Historically this date...

And births this date include...
... a real life strange person!
Interesting...... from Rick & Wendy Harp.....
I know this is supposed to be the smartest administration ever (HA!!!), but I'm sorry; if I were running a campaign with a fairly unpopular incumbent, the last thing I'd do is have a reelection slogan whose initials were WTF.

Can't believe you didn't have a corn dog or funnel cake. That's the whole reason for going to the fair. ha. Loved all the pictures. It does look like you two had a great time. Olga xoxo
I know, and when I told Brian I had to go back and get my lion picture he said, "Well good, now you can have that corn dog and funnel cake!" ... LOL. I was tempted. Really tempted, but taking off these 11 pounds has it's rewards!! And I'm not about to gobble up that many calories now. xo
Sue,
You made me LOL right now! That WTF comment was fabulous!!! I hope the "R"s make a big deal of that one! I know I will! lol
Oh girl, I just enjoyed your photos soooo much! I am now achin to go to the LA County Fair!! What fun you had! Usually it's in the triple digits when our fair happens so it's pretty miserable out there but we enjoy it anyway. People watching is a hoot! Glad to see the JCRP has a booth out there. Kudos!
I can't eat funnel cake cause it's too rich and greasy for me and I get woozy but a corn dog is just the ticket! Oh come on....just one??
LOVED your lion picture! Truly beautiful and sooo real looking! Do you have a spot in mind where to hang it? When John & Eric graduated from the nursery bedroom (the twins came along) I decorated their new room with a lion motif. The wall paper was called "Lions Pride". Of course I always get carried away with my themes so they had lion bedspreads and a throw pillow each that was a lions face. Pictures too as only one wall behind the beds had the wallpaper. That pic would have fit right in! :)
Thanks for all the entertainment! That was fun! Oh tell PJ I loved her in the belly dancing outfit! Hope she bought it! :)
XO Trisha
Hi T, thanks. Mr. Lion will go in the frontroom. I do miss the LA Co Fair. It's really the BEST! Biggest too. Ours was considerable smaller this year. Not that many booths. Sad. Economy is making a lot of things change. xo
WTF- the campaign for the incumbent has a window into its own soul. Whomever his opponents turns out to be- they will clink glasses on that one,
Thank you for having FUN for me. Stop by my page. JUST now sent off rough for next historical article to be fact checked.
This is my first stop on way back from deadline crazed writer to human being):-
Welcome back L!!!!! xo
