Good 37º foggy morning.  Yesterday we had sprinkles and intermittent sun. The clouds were beautiful!

I love these kinds of clouds. You can see all kinds of things in them. Animals, angels, etc. Fun!

Happy Throw Back Thursday...

May 1955 my Mom and I waiting for the White House tour in Washington DC. We heard a noise and a window on the second floor of the WH opened and President Eisenhower leaned out and waved to us!

Cameras weren't high tech like today, and Daddy missed getting the President in a photo! Dang!

Yesterday was haircut day and then a stop at Brian's office and the market for cat food and some cracked corn at Ace.

Then later I went to Brian's friend, Don, who put some tinting on the driver and passenger front windows of my car and a strip over the front windshield at the top to block the sun. Good job and I am very happy. The funny thing about where he lives is on Susan Lane!

Just add a 'y' to the end of Lane and you have my maiden name!

The tint took a couple of hours, so Brian picked me up and we went to Tucker's baseball practice. After, he dropped me off to pick up my car.

National Chip and Dip Day

National Chip and Dip Day celebrates America's favorite snack duet. If you re holding a party, it is almost certain that chips and dips are on the snack list.

Important Note: National Potato Chip Day is on March 14th. For today's celebration, the "chip" is more generic. It could be corn chips, or tortilla chips. And, the dip is any kind that goes well with the chip of choice.

Today is best celebrated in the evening with a bag of chips and your favorite dip.

Yesterday I took the remainder of the veggies and corned beef and made soup... adding in noodles, garlic salt, and chicken stock...

Canadian Geese mate for life. This female (on the right) is the chatty one! LOL.

National Goof Off Day

Now here's a day that just about everybody can relax and enjoy. It's a day to do anything and everything.....except what you're supposed to do today.

Assuming you won't get in trouble at work or school, go ahead and play some golf, or play games all day. Spend extra time surfing the net. Go out and spend the day window shopping with your favorite friend. Or, just read sit down and read a book or watch Tv. This day is set aside for you to do anything you enjoy doing.

A few years ago, a survey was performed to identify the most popular activity for goofing off. The top activity was playing video games. Who conducted the survey? Ninetendo.......no surprise. It kinda makes you wonder just who might have had the brainstorm to create this day......hmmmm. Nowadays, the most popular Goof Off Day activity is likely playing games on the internet, or on our Smart Phones.

Well, yesterday was NOT Spring-like. Rain, fog, gloom. YUCK.

The sun did come out for a bit and Dude thoroughly enjoyed laying in it. More rain in the night, another inch!

A shooting occurred in the parking lot of Temple City Sheriff's Station...

 no deputy injured... suspect was wearing body armor and had a long rifle or shotgun. Suspect 927d (dead).

Apparently he went inside the station to register as a sex offender and found out there was a warrant for his arrest. He went back to his car, followed by deputies, then he started shooting at them. He committed suicide. The whole area had been blocked off and even the school where Kristen works in San Gabriel was on lockdown.

NATIONAL FRENCH BREAD DAY

National French Bread Day is enjoyed by millions across the United States each year on March 21st.

French bread, also known as a baguette, is a long thin loaf made from basic lean dough. It is defined by its length and its crisp crust. Over time, French law has established what is and what is not a baguette.  Beginning in 1920 a labor law prevented bakers from starting their day before 4 a.m.  Bakers adjusted by shaping their loaves of bread, so they baked more quickly and evenly.  As a result, the long, narrow loaves were found to be convenient for slicing and storing.
