Tonight is Thursday Night Football.... either Kristen and Olga will be happy or I will be! Good luck Jet's fans... but you know I HATE Michael Vick for the attrosicites he did to poor dogs!!! And Rex Ryan is a piece of work too. Not only that, but he hired Vick!  :o(   "In April 2007, Vick was implicated in an illegal interstate dog fighting ring that had operated for five years. A federal judge noted that he had promoted, funded, and facilitated a dog fighting ring on his property, and had engaged in hanging and drowning dogs who did not perform well. He also had failed to cooperate fully with police. In August 2007, Vick pleaded guilty to federal felony charges and served 21 months in prison, followed by two months in home confinement" He HUNG dogs! He needs to be hung!!!! Sorry for the rant. I HATE people who abuse anyone or anything, especially children, old people, or animals...of any kind!

Yesterday I went to the market and pharmacy ... picked up mail, stopped at Ace for cracked corn for the birds. On my way out there was this bunny, black and gray. So cute. He was still by the driveway on my way back in... he didn't seem anxious to move since he found some fresh greens to eat...

Today is home chore day. Joy. Tonight is football. (Sorry about the rant K & O! xo) Think I'll make a meatloaf. We'll see.
All I know. Happy TBT. Nuff said. Ciao.

Chicken Cacciatore Day

And... it's also White Cane Safety Day celebrates and recognizes the achievements of the blind and visually impaired, and their independence. That independence is represented by the white cane that they use to travel from place to place.

The white cane is an invaluable tool for the blind. It affords blind people a freedom of movement they otherwise may not have. The white cane is a well recognized symbol of independence.
If you know someone who is blind or visually impaired, celebrate this day with him or her. We suggest you let them take you for a walk.

Here is one of my "made up" recipes...

First I took some asparagus, broke off the ends where they give, cut them into bite-sized pieces and steamed them with a bit of water and some olive oil.

Next I got out all the rice I had and there were several... Kalinga Jekot (Philippines sticky rice), Rice Blend (sweet brown, wild, heriloom red, calmati brown... get it at Costco), Yellow Saffron, Batsmati (aged Italian rice, wild rice, garden herbs and vegetables), and Ulikar Red (Philippines) ...

Next I drained two cans of mushroom slices, 1 can of olives, shredded some zucchini, chopped 3 peppers, and cut corn off a cob and added all in with the asparagus (that had been drained)

Spices were added... roasted garlic sea salt and pepper..

Then the drained chicken (BTW, if you have dogs or cats.. they LOVE the drained chicken water!!)

Then the cooked rice....

Mushroom Alfredo sauce and some grape tomatoes... and mixed well, heated.

OMGOOOOOD!!!!! Topped it off with a little shredded Mozzarella cheese.

If you are looking for a variety of sea salt..go here:

Yesterday was a trip out to Selma to a kennel where American Indian Dogs are raised and sold. What an interesting place. More about that tomorrow. If you want a sneak peek...
