Good 72º sunny morning. Of course it's late now, was up at 6:30 and it was a comfortable 53º. "They" keep telling us "rain" but nothing on the map.... satellite or radar.  Yesterday quite windy, but that's all.

Yesterday was fun. I went to Brian and Jen's expecting a barbecue lunch and was told, "We're going on a road trip"... So Brian, Jen, Tucker, Sami, Jean (Jen's mom) and I piled into their truck and off we went down to Galice. Galice is on the Rogue River and near to where the Big Windy Fire was. Fire now 85% contained and no smoke where we went. Here is a map showing where Galice is in relation to the fire area...

 

So much of the river was closed during the worst of the smoke and fire.

We had a great time. It was quite windy so we didn't sit down next to the rail by the water. Had great presents given to me... Jen found, get this, Jellybean Chardonnay! Jelly Bean Wines are vinted and bottled in Sonoma California.

Yesterday afternoon PJ and Dave had a barbecue. It was to celebrate Dave's birthday (9-12), PJ's sister Mike's birthday (8-27), and mine. Debbie was all set with props.... birthday girl got the tiara...

Since the "theme" was Asian food.... Pam (Mike's partner) came in appropriate attire... with her egg... set it on the counter and it rolls! Get it... egg roll!

PJ fixed spectacular pork marinated with yummmm ingredients and Dave barbecued it.

We had egg rolls (lol), pot stickers, pork, coleslaw, corn, rice with peas (YUMMMMM!!!) and Debbie's Jell-O/cream cheese/pretzel salad (AWESOME!)

Deb... would you please share the recipe???? Please!!!

Sadly Tim's partner, PatC was not feeling well, and Pam's partner Mike was in Redmond Washington pet-sitting for a sister.

 

Then out came the chopsticks!

Dessert was one of Tom's famous lemon mirangue pies! Sigh... so good.

Good 53º morning. Yawning............................ Clear sky, sun is shining. Got to 92º yesterday. Will probably be the same today.

I can't tell you how angry I am at Belichick and the Patriots for releasing Tim Tebow!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....  My loyalty is being tested and strained! Love Brady but Belichick can go stuff it!

Now what is in it for Tim? :o( 

 

 

 

In the morning yesterday Leah, hairdresser extraordinaire, and her boyfriend Jordan came over and got all the tree rounds that were cut off the tree in front. YES! Now I don't have to deal with them sitting in my yard. Jordan is going to cut them up for firewood. He's really nice and cute, Leah! He fell in love with Dude and the two of them played and played!

 

I did a mad dash to Medford to Real Deals for some gifts, Grover's for a light for the front yard, and 7 Oaks for some veggies. Made the mistake of buying a bag of their caramel flavored corn puffs! OMG! They are addictive!!! Came home and made my Oriental Coleslaw. Mixed up some room temp butter and taco seasoning to go on the corn I got at 7 Oaks, mixed up some granulated lemon and lemon oil in mayonnaise for the corn also. Packed up the salad and corn, slathering's, and some wine and headed to GP to Ron and Sue Loynds house. Joe and Linda (Watterlond) Terror came down from their second home in Roseburg for a community birthday barbecue. Linda's is the 5th,and Ronnie's and mine tomorrow. Linda and I have known each other since kindergarten and Ron since 7th grade. Not only were they there, but so were Laurie and Mike Bastian! OMG! Mike and I dated a few times in high school. His wife Laurie is such a doll. What a fun evening! Old Wilsonites....

Ron and Sue's friends Dave and Alena were there also with their daughter, Riley, a super cutie pie! Dave runs Wildlife Images, as his dad started it before him.

Ron's sister, Pat (omg, another Pat!) was there. She lives in Rogue River and she and I are going to have to get together! Such a nice gal. Although, she is totally against having her picture taken!! LOL.

Ron barbecued steaks to perfection and grilled a fresh salmon... Here's Sue being smoked out by the salmon!

 

And we had birthday cakes... a patriotic cheese cake the Terrors brought and a chocolate cake....

 

Sue was very patriotic!

Such a fun evening and lots of catching up with Linda. Didn't get home til almost 11pm. OMLate for me!!!
