Thanksgiving Leftovers ~ One Month til Christmas!

Good 44º raining morning. 1/4" so far in the last hour. No radar, so I am guessing these are the "isolated showers" the weather guys talked about!

Ok, kids... here are some great recipes for those Thanksgiving leftovers.....

Here is some interesting weather trivia....
See if your city is listed.... Medford is....
Thanks Debbie for this!

Yesterday was a busy cooking eating day. I hope everyone had an enjoyable one. I went to Jean's for dinner. She made turkey, stuffing, frozen cranberry Jell-o salad, gravy, pumpkin pies, apple pie. Jen made mashed potatoes and yams. I made deviled eggs (three flavors.. regular, parmesan, and bacon), french cut green beans with Rotel tomatoes, and a panko crust, and cheesecake. STUFFED! There were 12 of us.... Jen's friend Sandy (from So Cal), her husband John, Jake and Paige and their dog Zöe (soooo sweet). Jen's cousins Marie and Don. Brian, Jen, Tucker, Sami, and Jean and I.
Jen, Jake, Tucker, Marie, & Sandy playing a game.

Sami licking the whipping cream off her fingers! Mmmmmm.......

~ Happy Thanksgiving ~

Good 40º morning. Looks like a break in the rain for today. Yesterday we got just over ½".

Today, Lord, I am so truly thankful for so many things.

You have Blessed me in many ways. Thank you for this wonderful country I am privileged to live in.. and for all of it's military, police, and fire heroes. Thank you also for the regular "Joe Citizen" heroes, like Todd Beamer, who put themselves out there to help any way they can. Thank you Lord for my wonderful family and friends. They are my greatest Blessings. Thank you Lord for all the critters you have put on this earth, my very own, especially. They teach us so much ... unconditional love, loyalty, and understanding.

Lord, comfort those who are in pain, without friends or family, without food. Thank you for the time I had with loved ones that have gone to be with you. They shall always be in my heart, thoughts, and loved and greatly missed.

Lord, continue to Bless and watch over my family and friends. Keep them safe. And please watch over our country and military. Please impart some wisdom into the pea brains of the political machines running this country. Give them judging abilities to help save our country instead of using their position for fame, fortune, and stepping stones for their personal political future. I know, Lord, a little soapbox in my prayer! Can't help it. Thank you. Amen.

Now here is a wonderful story ... a good one for our Thanksgiving holiday... Thank you Laura (Vincent) Virant... (former Temple City neighbor and pretty girl!)

*** Disclaimer *** I said yesterday the member of our LE/Fire group putting on the feed for Thanksgiving was a retired Benicia cop. Boy did I goof. His wife's name is Benita ... and he was an LAPD and Burbank copper! Sorry Dennis. Brain fart!

My sweet dear friend Patty (Hickey-Oshiyama-McNaughton) is helping her 'baby girl', Bailey, celebrate her 21st birthday today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BAILEY!!!!

Mother's Killer Biscuits ~ Silly Turkeys ~ Killer Sunset

Good 43º morning. More rain on the way....

Got the following from Onion Mike. Just in case you weren't aware of the dangers. A good warning prior to the holidays:

ALCOHOL AND ICE....please read!!!
When you drink vodka over ice, it can give you kidney failure.
When you drink rum over ice, it can give you liver failure.

When you drink whiskey over ice, it can give you heart
problems.
When you drink gin over ice, it can give you brain problems.

Apparently, ice is really bad for you.
Warn all your friends.

Yesterday I baked "Mother's Killer Biscuits" for the dinner one in our Law Enforcement group, Dennis Offerman (former Benicia, I think, ... near SF) is putting on for the Grants Pass/Josephine Co police, deputies, paramedics, and fire on Thanksgiving. These biscuits are really awesome. Been making them for over 30 years. A family holiday staple. You need 2 packages of Grands biscuits, 1 cube butter, a bundt pan. Arrange biscuits in a circle in the pan on their side. Melt butter in microwave (30 seconds) and pour over the biscuits. Bake at 350º for approx 30-37 minutes (depending on you oven and altitude... mine took 37) until dark golden brown on top. Put on rack to cool. After about 10 minutes turn out onto a plate.

You make these, and you will thank me!

I went outside and there were the turkeys .... wayyyyyyy down in the lower section. They saw me and made a bee-line this way....

So, since I had thrown out some grub for the birds and gray squirrels they decided it was for them!

They seem to be quite happy they are not on tomorrow's menu!

Interesting sunset yesterday.....
We got more rain, between 11am yesterday and this morning....

Maggs just lay on the Princess Bed and slept through most of it...

Today is a dear sweet friend's birthday, Gracie Elliott, married to Jack, both former LASD. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRACIE!!! Love you girl. I hope your day is SPECIAL!
