~ Globalwarmingmyass ~ Moon ~ Contrails ~ Prayer ~

Good 28º morning. Let's have a talk, Mr. Gore.... this globalwarmingshit is bunk. Just ask anyone in the Northeast ...

or right here in So. Oregon!!!!!

Interesting sky this morning... fog and the moon and a jet plane!

I got quite a bit of house stuff done yesterday and even stacked wood on the porch. Didn't do any cooking as I had reruns in the fridge. Not a lot to tell.... I did come across more pictures I put in envelopes and will mail off to those in the pictures... some oldies ..

Then.... my neighbor's dog, Shiloh, escaped AGAIN! She ran down here with "gay abandon"!! What a sweet little girl. Her folks, Gerard and Maria, saw her escape under the fence so they were headed down here when I saw her at my gate. I sat on the porch and she tried to get into my lap. She loves hugs! Funny little sweetie.

    A Prayer for 2011
    Dear God:

For 2011, all I ask for is a big fat bank account and a slim body.
Please do not mix up the two like you did last year.

    Amen

Sunset was spectacular, again... I just love the contrails. They fascinate me .. and then they too turned pinkish-orange!

All I know. I have some squash and a pumpkin that will go bad if I don't do something with them. Think I will cook them, dice them, and mix with diced sweet potato and maybe some bacon for some kind of a room temp salad... Will see....

My friend, Candy, is having an eye surgery today and I wish her the best, will be thinking about her......Also Debbie is having a root canal thing. Thinkin' boutcha too Deb!!!! HUGS.

    National Chocolate Cake Day

OMG, that sooooo makes me drool.
Reminds me of family gatherings when I
was little and my sister Marion, who was
9 years older, and I would mix our chocolate
cake with vanilla ice cream into a big gooey
mess. We would be banished from the
dining room to the breakfast room because
we were too "gross" for everyone else!!! LOL

    ~ 30 Degrees ~ New Jobs ~ Peanut Brittle ~

Good 30º morning. Fog too. At least the "crew" let me sleep in until 7am. Yeah!
So, yesterday I babied myself with the Zicam, vitamin C, tea, fruit, and Dr. Zinc. Didn't do much else. Sat here. Did go get my mail, take trash, and pick up some spaghetti Patty and Cliff left for me at PJ's. Sounds/looks interesting.... she had two kinds of pasta and put in creamed corn. Will review....
I had cooked the big ham I found in the freezer all night Monday with a can of crushed pineapple and some brown sugar. There were a few outside places that had freezer burn, so cut them off. It tasted WONDERFUL!
Dinner last night: cut up ham mixed with butternut squash stuffed ravioli (from Costco), fresh mozzarella balls, and a light buttery olive oil sauce.

Cook the ravioli, drain. I reconstituted some dried sliced garlic and some dried diced onion in the marinade from the fresh mozzarella. Heat the garlic, onion with the marinade (about 2 T.)  and some julienned sun dried tomato,  and diced celery. Sauté a few minutes.
Add cut grape tomatoes, the ham,
    a couple pats of butter
    and the mozzarella balls.
Add the ravioli and mix well. Heat through. Voilá.
Speaking of ham.... here is something fun... Draw a pig... and get analyzed.

How about we all lighten up on the President. After all he is getting people jobs....

    Last night's sunset....
The first one at 5:15 and the second at 5:30.
After dinner we had a fire and watched The Closer and a wonderful PBS show Pioneers of Television - Westerns. Wonderful! Brought back so many memories. If you get a chance, check your listings and see it!

Yesterday the sun came out! YEAH! I went to Medford for a meeting with our JCRW President, Ruth, and a couple of the other gals... Two are VP's, Laraine is in charge of all of us Chairpeoples, Val is the Treasurer, Laura is the Calling Chairman, and I'm the Membership Chair. We are going to have a class in how to do spreadsheets..... probably the 8th of Feb. Something I have never learned.
This was the view of Mt. McLaughlin on the way into Medford

After the meeting I ran to Costco to see if they had anymore of the chicken/sweet potato dog treats. Of course they didn't! Then to the Grange for seed and corn. Cheaper there than at Ace in town.

Home and puttered around. I found a ham in the freezer this am and it went into the crockpot with pineapple and brown sugar on it. Don't know if it will be any good...been in there a long time! If it's bad, the critters out back will eat it!

Our sunset, as usual, was awesome....

An Oregon boy, made good, sadly died at 24.

So, seems like everyone I know has or has had a bad bad cold... sore throat, coughing, runny nose..... the usual suspects. Thought I was going to avoid it... Wasn't around Dave when he was at his worst, PatT had it, but wasn't around her, and yesterday at our meeting, Ruth shows up coughing and spewing and miserable. So................... I started getting that "throat thing, runny/tuffy dose, and sneezing like mad" ! I started in with the Zicam in the afternoon, chewable vitamin C, and herbal tea, and Musinex. In the night I took another Zicam and more vitamin C. Another Zicam this morning and "it" is still there a little, but I feel 100% better. All I have to say, if you are going out in public, take some Airborne and if you feel a cold coming on, immediately take Zicam. The cold/flu tracker says here in So. Oregon it's "moderate"

Ok, all I know. Will be getting my new Microsoft Office program today via UPS so I can learn spreadsheets. Will keep a lid on my cold. Hope you have a great Tuesday. Nuff said. Ciao.
