Musashi Gang ~ My Photo On The News

Good 46º cloudy morning. Warmer last night. No ice.
Yesterday I met up with a bunch of friends at Musashi for lunch to celebrate Jennifer's birthday.  http://musashisushi.com/
Micol said she got her a gift that could only be opened at Musashi, even though her birthday isn't until Sunday.
OMGOSH, these are the cutest pajamas!!!!!

The gang: L-R Bob, me, Nancy, Jennifer, Micol (Bob's wife), and Mike.....

I had some prum rine (plum wine! Japanese accent!!!! LOL) and shrimp and vegetable tempura with a salad. YUMMM!!

After lunch it was some quick shopping at Safeway to get the ingredients for taquitos for Brian's Super Bowl Party.

Later was back therapy, stop at the post office, and Ace for cracked corn. For dinner I decided I wanted a pasta dish. Thawed out ground turkey and added in some of my marinara sauce.

I reconstituted the mushrooms and then squeezed them dry with a towel. Sauteéd them in olive oil with lots of garlic and some Rosemary. Set aside and sauteéd the turkey with seasonings. Added in the mushrooms, marinara sauce. Cooked the pasta and added that. Sorry, no picture, but it was GOOOOOOD!!!! Oink oink....

February 5th
(^our local weatherman, Adam Colpack)
National Weatherman's Day honors weathermen, and woman who work hard to accurately predict the often fickle weather. Despite major technological advances and supercomputers, forecasting the weather is still a tricky, and ever changing business.
Knowing the weather is important in so many ways. It affect how we dress, where we go, and even if we go. Space launches are made or delayed depending upon the weather. And, knowing the weather can save lives. The most obvious example is knowing when and where hurricanes or tornados may hit.
According to the Air Force News, Weatherman's Day "commemorates the birth of John Jeffries, one of America's first weathermen". Jeffries was born on Feb 5, 1744. He kept weather records from 1774 to1816.
If you see a weatherman today, give them your appreciation for a job well done.

Cold & Rain ~ Throw Back Thursday ~ Cathy's New Pups ~ Why People Move To Florida ~ Eagle Eye Surgery ~ Joe Kirk

Good 41º foggy morning.

Stayed cold all day yesterday.. never got out of the 40º. I think we hit a high of 44.5º Then at 2pm we got rain. Imagine. Ended up with 1/8".

Throw Back Thursday.... Brian "golfing" the acorns 1973:

My pal Cathy just got her three new pug puppies, Binky.. Blue.. and Bear. She got them from back east. Her love dog was Bumbles, a pug she had for 13 years, and wanted another pug after she passed away last year. These three all came together. They were flown out to Ca and they were exhausted from the travel. Here they are when first arrived... and then in their snuggy bed!

Happy puppies. Will have a GREAT home with Cathy!

Ok, this is toooooo funny, well, except for a couple instances.... 1. the stupid idiot and the swimming pool ... and 2. the bull trying to mate. Thanks Derry Benedict (LASD ret) for sharing this. I was howling with laughter... And Gator, this is why people move to Florida!

Our local news station, KOBI5, posted this on their site about a famous eagle...

Yesterday was bills, organize, vacuum and mop. Over the top excitement!

Thank A Mailman Day

Thank a Mailman Day is your chance to say thanks to the guy, or gal, who delivers your mail. After all, they are there six days a week. The reliable postal worker is always there doing their job, regardless of the weather. They are a hardy lot. You'll find some mail carriers on walking routes, wearing shorts in all but the coldest of winter days.

Did you Know? Pony Express riders were the most famous early American "mailmen". Their motto was " Neither rain, nor snow, nor death of the night, can keep us from our duty". This motto is believed to be taken in part from a motto dating back to ancient times. Among the most popular variation is "Through rain or snow, or sleet or hail, we'll carry the mail. We will not fail".

Make it a point to catch your mail carrier enroute today. Give him or her a great big smile and a great big "TY".  If you happen to visit your local post office, give them a thank you, too.
