Good 40ยบ cloudy morning. Got some sprinkles yesterday and lots
of wind! Never warmed up and I was cold all day. Hands especially. Finally after
all the heaters were on and I was under a comforter I felt warm. Oh, and after
drinking about 5 cups of hot tea! Patty over at the coast said they got 4" in 3
days. Looks like maybe more here.... but who knows... pressure goes down and
then back up and down again! California is supposed to get a good amount!

Kristen made this video of Jack playing some jazz... he is
such an AWESOME drummer!!! So proud of my grandson!
He's been taking drum lessons since he was 7. I told him he
was the next Gene Krupa. He said, "who is that?". Oh wait, I forgot, Krupa was

Yesterday was "pay bills day" and organize for "work on taxes day" today.

Dinner was a rerun of the soup I made the other night. I had stuff in the
fridge I needed to use up.... 2 leeks, a bag of carrots, potato, garlic, yam
...
Everything got chopped up except the garlic, left it whole..
I had the diced dried tomatoes and some couscous....
Into the little Crock*Pot they went...
I added in the whole box of chicken stock and then a can of cream of
chicken soup....
This soup was soooooooooooo AWESOME! Mmmmmm.... will make this again and
again. I cooked it on high for 3 hours, turned it off and let it sit on warm for
a couple hours. The potatoes were soft and the carrots still had a crunch to
them. Yummmm....
UPS Dave came with my Cutco Order yesterday .... yes, awesome knives!!!! My
granddaughter Alex is selling them. I already had one Cutco knife that NEVER
needs sharpening and is the best knife ever! Also I already had some Cutco
kitchen shears. They will cut ANYTHING!

lemme know! She will have you turn on your computer and she will walk you through the Cutco website. She's loaded with all the information!
Later it was TV and some interesting travel shows. One was Bizarre Foods
with Andrew Zimmern on the Travel Channel.
For you guys and ladies who are not squeamish, you might enjoy this like I
did. Some fascinating foods out there from all over the world. Some I really
wanted to try and some I didn't. Apparently there are many cooks and chefs in
Portland who go over the edge with their cooking. Ok, a trip to Portland for a
"foodie tour"!!!! Sounds fun.

No Housework Day
No Housework Day is your chance to do anything, except housework. Better
still, have someone else do the chores for a day. Housework is a daily,
seemingly endless and repetitive groups of tasks. It often goes unrecognized and
worst of all..... taken for granted. But, watch out! If the dishes aren't done,
or there's no clean towels, somebody notices.
There's
two ways to celebrate this day:
If
you normally do the housework around the house, cease and desist for this day.
Instead, kick back and enjoy the day. Relax and do anything, except
housework.
If
you are a spouse or significant other, do the housework for your mate. It gives
her (or him) a break from the housework. And, you just might get an appreciation
of how much work it takes to keep up the house.
AND.......it's also National Beer Day!
New Beer's Eve is an
unofficial holiday in the United States, celebrating the end of Prohibition in the United States on April 6.
The beginning of the end of Prohibition in the United States occurred as
a result of the Cullen–Harrison Act and its signing into law by President Franklin
D. Roosevelt on
March 23, 1933. Sales of beer in the U.S would become legal
on April 7, 1933, provided that the state in question had enacted its own law
allowing such sales. The beer had to have an alcohol content less than 3.2% (4%
ABV), compared to the 0.5% limit of the Volstead
Act, because 3.2% was considered too low to produce intoxication. On the evening of April 6, people
lined up outside breweries and taverns, waiting for midnight when they would be
able to legally purchase beer for the first time in over 13 years. Since then,
the night of April 6 has been referred to as "New Beer's Eve" and April 7 is
known as "National Beer Day"
