Good 39º very foggy morning!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there.

I so miss mine and wish she had gotten to know her grandchildren's children! Here is my Mom with Kristen.....

I was going to go to Tucker's baseball game yesterday but the continual rain made it sound like the game wasn't going to happen. Well it finally stopped raining and by the time Brian let me know the game was on I had involved myself into projects here. B sent this picture of Tucker in his new catcher's gear...

Yesterday was exciting. Rain rain and more rain. Instead I did laundry, vacuumed, and made that edamame/cilantro hummus I had posted on my blog May 7th.

The tahini after sitting, it separates, so I had to put it in the little processor to smooth it out...

After putting all the ingredients in the food processor and tasting it... it was really flat. I added in a can of chickpeas, more cumin, more cayenne pepper, and more lemon juice. Healthy but it really didn't flip my skirt.

I ate it with celery.

Personally I like the regular hummus I make with chickpeas (I buy the dried ones and cook them). I can see adding some edamame to that for a little green boost, but will not be making this again. YES, very healthy, but boring!

Musashi ~ Chocolate Covered Strawberries ~ Vote ~ Shrimp Day

Good 48º drizzling morning.

 

Rain and more rain yesterday. Some in the night. More today. So far another 1/4".

Went to lunch with Jennifer, Mike, Bob, Micol ... me, the 5th wheel!! We met at Musashi at noon. Saw Donna Walsh (the black wolf artist .. bought her painting) and her husband Mike there.  

We had a GREAT time. Lots of yackity-yacking!!! Good food. I had sushi....

...and we all had hot saké! 

When I got home there was a box on the porch... inside was the MOST YUMMIEST CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES EVER! They are Shari's Berries and Kristen, Alex, and Jack sent them to me for Mother's Day. THANK YOU!!!! I gobbled two down right away! The berries are perfect and sweet and ripe. OMG!  ♥ ♥ ♥

Good 49º somewhat cloudy morning.... rained windy late yesterday. Total of 1/4" of rain.

 

"Angry" doesn't quite cover it. I sent in my Oregon Income Tax along with a check and then the end of March I sent my check for my quarterly payment. I got a letter from them saying I haven't paid them! OMG. I was ready to send copies of the checks and a letter, but called the Department of Revenue yesterday afternoon when I got home. Talked to a SUPER nice lady, Christy, and she said what happened was the quarterly check was applied to 2014 instead of 2013 like it was supposed to be and they screwed up. She said she'll fix it, call back in a week to make sure. WHEW.

Yesterday was the yearly boob smash. Then a stop at Trader Joe's.  

Bought the following:

Basmati Rice with Wild Rice herbs and dried veggies (celery, carrots, onion, red bell pepper, garlic, parsley, mushrooms, leeks, and lemon peel), Veggie Chips (26 chips=160 cal.... made with potato, sunflower oil, sea salt, tomato powder, spinach powder, and turmeric), Garlic Rice Noodle Soup Bowl, TJ's Seasoning Salute (onion, black pepper, celery seed, cayenne pepper, parsley, basil,  marjoram, bay leaves, oregano, thyme, rosemary, mustard, coriander, garlic, carrot, orange peel, tomato, and lemon), Wasabi Mayonnaise, Brown Rice & Quinoa Flour pasta, and Cinnamon Alphabet Cookies for Tucker and Sami! 

AND.... some Two Buck Chuck!

Cooked peeled chickpeas mixed in with asparagus, celery, tomato, TJ Spices, lemon oil, garlic, in the Basmati Rice cooked in the rice cooker. I put a can of salmon on the top steam rack. OMGOOOOOOD!!!
