President's Day ~ Spaghetti Stuffed Sausage ~ Melinda ~ Alfredo & Virginia ~ Crab Stuffed Flounder

Good 28º frozen foggy morning. Yesterday heated to the high 50º's even thought the sky was clear and sunny.

Today in Canada, it's Family Day. Here in the USofA it's President's Day. It's the day when President BO walks out of the White House, and if he sees his shadow, we all have 4 more years of bull sh*t!!!  

 

Ok, so just before my computer went to Turk I made the spaghetti stuffed sausage. It was interesting to say the least. I got some small short sausages, stuffed angel hair pasta into each 3-4 strands at a time, cooked them in boiling salted water, and then added them to some of my marinara sauce. I also served that with an artichoke boiled with olive oil drizzled down inside the choke, lemon juice, and sprinkled with garlic powder and sea salt. OMGOOD!!

Even though it was tasty, it was still a lot more work than just cooking the sausage and spaghetti separately and mixing in with the sauce.

This for the ladies.... ya'll know how EVERYONE loves firemen..... (LOL .. yes, they don't give tickets!)

 

Special day today, my niece Melinda Plumbridge is celebrating her birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEL! I hope your special day is AWESOME! ♥

Just stuff and Harley Dude......

 

Good 27º clear and sunny frozen morning.

 

Yesterday was long and hard. Crying mostly. Trying to dig the grave for Harley. Thank goodness the ground was soft from all the rains we have had. I worked on the grave a little at a time and finally my back went south. I went down to my neighbors Cindy and Frank. Their son, Jason, was there and he came up and helped dig the rest for me. Here is the last photo I took of my boy on Friday...

I laid Harley to rest, but before that I unwrapped him and there was a tear on his eye. I wiped it off and kissed him one last time.

On Friday I had taken Harley to the vet's. I knew he was failing fast, feeble, hard time balancing on all four feet, had been throwing up a couple days in a row and the doc said his kidneys were starting to fail. I felt it was best to have him put to sleep so he wouldn't be in any pain or discomfort anymore. Hated to have to do it. He's been a buddy for so long. He was even a buddy to our other cat, Blazer. Blazer couldn't catch a bird or a mouse if his life depended on it. He telegraphed his every move. His fav thing to do was lay on his back on the sidewalk in Temple City and hope someone would come along and rub his tummy. So, Harley arrived on scene and decided to help Blazer out by occasionally catching a bird and giving it to him. He had a good heart. Harley quit hunting after we moved here, as I wanted him to be an indoor cat and not be eaten himself by coyotes or cougars. When I brought him home on Friday I let Maggie and Bruiser sniff him so they would understand. Bruiser did! He got up on my lap in my chair Friday night while I watched TV. This was Harley's spot. No matter who was in my chair (Dave when he babysat and Cliff not too long ago) Harley would get in their lap.

I had dinner at Brian and Jen's last night. Jen made a FEAST~! She had fried brown rice with veggies and made a Japanese sauce to go with. She had bacon wrapped filets and edamame. Tuesday was a long day. Posted my blog, took my computer into Turk in GP, headed to Costco..... Shopped until I dropped. Home to Ace to get a new battery for my photo viewer, got some kindling from Dave (thanks so much!!!) .. then to drop off Costco items Jeannie wanted and have a glass of wine. Yesterday I did nothing much ... some housework, fed Dave & PJ's fish, messed with this laptop, cooked..... My pals Jeannie and Bill have headed out for a few weeks in their motorhome. No snow on the summit. Should be nice weather all the way.
