~ Dooms Day ~ Broccoli & Egg ~ Mac & Cheese ~

Good 49º cloudy morning.

What a day yesterday was. I discovered the weather guys said it was to rain last night and then today and tomorrow. So, I wanted to get the spraying done. No pressure in the spray rig. Dave had just worked on it and he said it was good to go. Drat. On top of not being able to get it to work, it had a flat tire! So I had to fine the air thingy and get it down to the tractor shed and fill  the tire. Hope it's still up today! Then I put on the sprayer backpack to hand spray. It wouldn't hold pressure and then the hose broke loose. SH*T!!!!!!! So frustrating being a girl and not being able to fix these things. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.  The spray went down the back of my pants so had to come in and put the pants in the washing machine and wash off my leg. Sigh.....
So, I planted a tomato, some Swiss Chard, and potted some lemon balm. Seems like a wasted day.

Breakfast was interesting. I had some al denté cooked broccoli so I drizzled in olive oil, put it in a pan, added grape tomatoes, cooked crumbled bacon (buy it in a bag at Costco..so easy to use in recipes), and some grated cheese, and then poached an egg and set it on top.

I filled the hummer feeders and nyjer seed feeders. When I was outside I saw this young deer walk over to the barn and lay down in the shade. She looks like her mom probably had a new baby or babies and kicked her away to fend for herself. You can hardly see her in the first picture... but, she was watching me!

How cute is that!!!

It clouded up in the afternoon...

Maggie and I went down to get the mail.. Mr. Lizard was sunning himself atop a post...

At 9pm it was raining. Not enough to measure.

Blue Bird Babies ~ Real Deals ~ Hector & Lucy ~ Circle J

Good 36º sunny morning!

While I was out taking the above picture I heard the peeping coming from the blue bird's box. I had seen 'dad' making regular bug drops in there so I had a feeling the babies had hatched. Sure enough! So the next series of pictures, sorry taken through the glass door and screen, is dad arriving with a worm, mom leaving, and dad taking worm into feed babies.....

Yesterday was fun. I met up with Jeannie, Donna, Connie, Candy, and Dee. We met at Real Deals, a shop only open 2 days a week, down off Agness on Gladiola (Behind the Bear Hotel) in Grants Pass. (There is one in Medford also)

While standing in the parking lot we saw Hector (former LAPD and the one who started our LE/Fire lunches at the Elks) and his dog Lucy. They came over and chatted. He said about 3 years ago it was published and in the news about this dog found wrapped in barbed wire. Hector adopted her. She is sweet but very afraid of strangers. Thank you Hector for caring about her, loving her, and giving her a great home!

Anyway, in the store we went...

Then to The Dollar Store where I found decorations for our Fiesta Party on Sunday. Dee and I were left, as everyone else had prior commitments, so she and I headed to Circle J for lunch.

As you can see the interior is eclectic. At the bottom of the beer sign it says "Beer is magic". LOL. I had a pizza that had a super thin crust, creamy garlic sauce, salmon, and drizzled with cilantro pesto. AWESOME! Dee had a mushroom burger that looked fabulous.... and sweet potato fries! Wow. Good stuff. Will go back.

In the rest room they leave chalk and everyone writes on the walls. (Dee said anything rude crude or unrefined is taken off immediately)

I wrote the 'God Bless our Military'.  Stopped at Brian's office and he did me a favor, I will tell you about on Monday. Then to Magic Man for a look see at their costume stuff.
Came home and had a few leftover pieces of pizza for dinner.

Moon ~ Asparagus/Mushrooms/Brown Rice ~ Chocolate Cake

Good 33º morning. Frost on the barn roof!

But that full moon was out first thing (6am)...

Yesterday rocked with excitement. I worked on pictures in my computer and getting them onto the external hard drive, did some vacuuming after I spilled Nyjer seed in the kitchen, and went through magazines to toss. Maggie and I went to town and I got some groceries.  It rained and then the sun would come out and then go away again and rain again. All day long it did this....we didn't even get enough rain to measure.

Dinner was stir fried asparagus with white mushrooms and then added cooked brown rice.

... the herbs I have been using on everything lately are some Linda gave me for Christmas. Awesome....

I haven't tried them on oatmeal yet (joke) but have on just about everything else. Along with rosemary sea salt... good stuff!

Historically this date....
