~ Mr Hippo ~ Mr Dave ~ Mr Squirrel ~ PB&J Mmmmmm ~

Good 39º rainy morning.

Yesterday was beautiful and sunny and WARM all day. Last night I let Maggie out about 11pm and it was like a summer evening, still warm and balmy. Then about 12:30 I heard the rain start. Again.

So far looks like we've gotten about 1/4" and it's still coming down.

Of course we have our JCRW 1+1 Luncheon today,

and it will be rainy!

Yesterday was very productive. Dave and PJ stopped by before they went to town and he got my riding lawnmower working. It had just sat all winter and there was no gas in the lines, so he primed the carb and it started! Yeah! I got the lawn mowed. Boy, a chore, it was so deep. You know all that rain and then a couple of sunny warm days and it just exploded!! At least Mr. Hippo is visible again...

Dave PJ and I took a ride to the pond where Dave discovered a muskrat or some water critter had built a dam at the runoff creek and the pond was filling up way too much. He disengaged the dam and the water in the pond started receding. Then we went to the barn and located the sprayer. Jerry pulled it behind the lawnmower and sprayed the weeds and grass in the road and the fence lines. Dave is going to take it to his house and make sure it's working and spray his roadway etc and then I can spray mine. That will save me $400 paying someone else to do it! Then Saint Dave also stacked wood on my porch for me. Now my back isn't hurting, but his is! xo

I cleaned out my car and set up the rear seats... #5 and 6, so in case we have all five going to the luncheon today we can go in one car.

I have this gray squirrel that seems miffed that the turkeys eat up all the cracked corn and he doesn't get any. So, i took an old empty metal can and put corn in the bottom and left the lid off. Happy happy squirrel now! He gets down in there and eats to his heart's content. The turkeys can't reach the bottom of the can.

Haircut ~ Agate Thingy !~ Sourdough Bread

Good 63º partially cloudy very late afternoon.
Late start today.

Pretty morning. Pressure is dropping and there is rumor

of rainfall later today or/and tomorrow. Swell. And I

didn't even wash my car!

I remember on April 1st I would always ruin my mother's first cup of coffee by substituting the sugar in the sugar bowl with salt. She never got mad. It was just an "April Fools" joke. Then on April 1st 1982 Jerry's brother Ron called to say their dad had died. Jerry said, "April Fools.... right?" Sadly, no. Sigh.....

Yesterday I had my hair cut .... SHORT! Yeah.

Then... I went to Jean's... my daughter-in-"love"s mom. (Stole the "love" part from my pal Judy who calls her daughter's husband, her "son-in-love") I had a question on my taxes and Jean is our resident expert. Thanks of the help Jean. Then it was to Hallmark for some cards and wrapping paper. Then to Albertson's. I had a coupon for Free Philly Cream Cheese Cooking Sauce...

Also had a coupon for $1.50 off and at the point of sale they had coupons for $1.50 off also. So I got three flavors... Italian and Herbs, Garlic, and Original all for $2.98 which would have cost me $8.97 @ $2.99 each regularly. Such a deal. Now to cook something with them....

I came home and got Maggie and we took a bottle of chard down to PJ and Dave's. It was a chat-fest about their two months gone to Quartzsite. Dave got lots of gold nuggets and PJ just enjoyed the warm dry weather. Dave took a class in Quartzsite on how to cut and polish rock. He said he was the "hit of the class" with his 'item' he made from layered agate. He cut and polished it and gave it to me as a gift. Awwwwww....

I about fell off the stool. It's 6 1/2" tall and if you turn it over the bottom is heart shaped. Dave, you are a nut!!! And I love ya!!!!

PJ brought me a "phone purse" with a frog on it. I love frogs. It's darling and also she gave me a polished agate snail....

It was a good day. Frank and his son Josh, super neat people!, came over and fixed my gate so it now opens and closes like it's supposed to. THANK YOU FRANK AND JOSH!

~ Sunshine! ~ Kitties and Puppies ~ Clams

Can you believe it... it's the END of March already!!!!! Time is just going by too fast!

Good 45º foggy morning.

OMG, yesterday it was 73º. It's been months and months since we saw that temp and the SUN WAS OUT!!! I couldn't believe it, I was actually perspiring!

The turkeys were out and happy it was sunny and not pouring. Harley Dude, also happy, to be out on the porch and enjoying the weather...

Yesterday afternoon Maggie and I went to PJ and Dave's to open their electric gate and turn it off so it stays open. They came home with their trailer and it's easier if the gate is open since if he pulled up to the gate his trailer would still be out in the road. We get a lot of afternoon traffic and it's only 2 lanes. Anyway, they are home safe and sound.

I made earrings this afternoon for 'prizes' to give at our 1+1 JCRW Luncheon this Saturday. Patty, PatC, and Claire will be going with me. Free lunch for them. Should be fun. We were also asked to decorate a hat for the 'hat contest'. You will see mine Sunday.

Can't give it away yet!

The geese showed up about 5pm and I took them out a treat...
