Internet ~ Turkeys ~ Hawk ~ RAIN ~ Goodwill

Good 44 º heavily raining morning.

After 3pm now... Scratch that... 60º and the sun keeps peeking through...

Trouble with the internet this morning. Can't get any sites to open. May not get to this blog until way later.... I have a JCRW luncheon meeting today. My pal Nancy going with me. We'll see if I get this off before we leave.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok, back home and internet seems to be working. Yeah! I took Nancy and PatT with me to the luncheon. We had a great lunch... Ruth, again was
in rare form. Laughter is good!
The turkeys were still 'hanging around' when I got home...
I was wrong about the amount of rain this morning...
The "floater" in the measuring tube was stuck at the bottom and it looked like 1/4"... LOL, after I shook it before I left here it showed
1½" ! Big difference. More in tune with all the rain I heard!
It was a pretty day, on and off yesterday....
Yesterday Shiloh showed up here again. Poor baby, she's starved for love. Her "mother" showed up an hour and a half later..... and told me, "Lock her up in a shed and she won't want to come back." ! Sigh.... I sat on the porch with her a couple of times and all she wanted was to be scratched and loved. She tried to get as close to me as she could. Such a love!
We also had a visit from the hawk....
He/she sits near the bird feeders. When there is
not one bird around I know the hawk is! This is a
The hawk wasn't afraid of me when I went out onto the porch to take a picture .... that's when he turned his head to look at me.
I worked on the stuff to take to Goodwill and got it all in my car.
 That included sheets and towels,purses and shoes too.
$30 shoes, rarely worn...
Black ones,
 $60 and named "Black Sue" LOL, worn a couple of times....
Ha ha ha... and look at these (worn once!)
The lady at Goodwill said, "Sure, we'll take them!" OMG, who would want brocade peach heels????
 And these never worn!
Sperry Top Sider rain boots...
None of my old shoes will fit anymore. I had heard that your nose and ears keep growing the rest of your life, but your feet????
Anyway, dumped all at Goodwill and then Maggie and I went to Patty and Cliff's......... She got an external hard drive and I put all her documents and pictures on it in case her computer takes a dump. I learned the hard way about saving stuff on the external drive. Fortunately for me, Turk is a computer genius and saved most of my docs and pictures! So, now Patty's is saved. Also adjusted their computer's screen resolution so site pages weren't so big and that made Cliff happy.
Dr. Brian ~ Harry & David ~ Leah ~ Crab and Linguini
Good  43 º morning. Foggy.
Looks like today may be dry for a change.
Yesterday my first effort was a yearly appointment with my cardiologist, Dr. Brian Morrison....
 Such a great guy (and very handsome too)!
The dreaded exam room....
His assistant, Nicky, checked my vitals and gave me
an EKG.
 I answered all the standard questions, "No. No. No. No. No. No. No. and No."
Doc came in and checked my heart. He listened to heart, neck, and stomach, listening for signs of  atheromatous plaque buildup.
The bottom line is that my EKG was great, heart sounds great, no signs of plaque buildup, and my blood pressure was perfect! Whoooooo hoooooo. I was sort of down in the dumps heading over there, concerns for Maggie and Harley presently, so didn't think I'd have such a good outcome. Well, that perked me right up!
After chatting a bit and hugging Dr. Brian goodbye (for another year) I headed to Merle Norman. Needed some makeup. It was just 9:30 so had to wait half and hour. I went next door to Harry and David...
I bought several items.... and had some of their great coffee.
This is a favorite store of most who live in the area. Oh, by the way, this is an "unauthorized" photo! I was informed of this by a clerk just after I took it. I'm not using it for evil purposes, just showing you a place that is a joy of discovery to shop! Then to even make my day better, the checker said that since they are in restructuring and not advertising in local papers, they would send me info via email. And since my email wasn't on file with them and I gave them my email address, I got a FREE pie!
It's apple/cranberry. OOOOOHHHH so good!  Oh my.
THEN.... be still my heart, since I am over 60 on every Tuesday I get a 10% discount. Such a deal I got today!
Here is my loot from H&D:
L to R top: live basil (oh boy, kitchen smells heavenly!), sweet
potato brownie mix (no cholesterol, no gluten, no anything bad), caramelized onion/feta/garlic foccacia, tomato/garlic foccacia.
L to R front: lemon mojito green tea, raspberry Danish, sticky red rice from Philippines, purple barley, and black rye bread....
and the pie! I took the pie to Frank and Cindy's and had
her cut out a couple of large pieces for them and today
will take some to Patty and Cliff.  See Dave and Pat,
if you had been home and not in the Arizona desert,
you could have had some too!
Then from Medford to Rogue River to Ray's
in the pouring rain...
You can see the mill on the right that recently re-opened.
Two of my neighbors .. Joey and Frank work there as
well as Mike from Napa.
In Ray's I ran into Leah, my hair salon sweetheart, and Karla, asst mgr.
Then Dan from Ace walked in,
Noel from the Post Office....
when I left John (fixed my ac/heater yesterday) was there!
I checked out the cooked chickens...
and the raw ones...
 and got one to cook and hamburger
to try and tempt Maggie!
Stopping in the beauty shop to give Leah her present. Her birthday is today and she's hopefully off celebrating!
.... and four of my friends celebrate their birthdays today....
Leah (of course!), Wendy on Catalina Island, Virginia my dear neighbor from Temple City, and Mr. Ike, retired LASD Homicide!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY all of you Pisces!
So, after shopping yesterday I stopped for gas. OMG. Do I have to mortgage the house???
Funny, the diesel price is 415, which in our
code book 415 means 'disturbance'. The price of diesel is very disturbing!  :-(
I think we are trying to  catch up with Collifornia!
All I know. House cleaning and tossing stuff in the Goodwill box...
Happy Wednesday, Hump Day!
Ciao.
A nice white sauce with lemon and
add the crab... pour over hot
linguini..... OH MY!
