And got this picture from Patty, she and Cliff are at their place in Gold Beach... son Chuck, his wife Linda, and her relative Susan are there for the weekend. Chuck caught his biggest salmon ever... 30 pounds ..

Way cool Chuck!

Went to PJ and Dave's yesterday morning and put the 'girls' out in Al-Cat-Traz, Neko and Rio........

Fed the koi...

Stopped and talked to neighbor Maria. She and Gerard are now housing their granddog, Kelly. She is old like Maggie and the new pups their son and dil have do not make Kelly happy. She and Maggie swapped spit...

Brian, Tucker, and Sami showed up to help with the Harley.

Kids and I and Maggie took a ride to the pond...

Tucker is a photographer too!

...and B got the scoot on the trailer

and we stopped at Napa for a new lower hitch ...

and then to GP Motors ...

where it was put on consignment. The bike will be posted on their site with picture (http://www.gpmotorsonline.com/home/ ) ..Vicky and Ken ..

Good people. Nice.

I cried all the way home though. Darn. It's hard to deal with some of these things. We had a lot of fun on that scoot... lots of good memories riding with friends and with the Choirboys. Anyway, back home, unhooked the trailer, but it's so HEAVY I couldn't get it up the incline into the barn. It will be fine there for a while, weather won't bother it.

It was 93º by the time I decided I'd go to  to GP and meet up with Jeannie and Bill and their pals Donna and Dan and watch the parade of cars. We had wine at the Elks first and blabbed and blabbed about everything! Donna is funny and has had some neat life experiences. Then we stood on the corner and saw so many neat cars. Lots of them up from California for the event.

I thought this was the gay corner and they were both sitting in the same chair... but no, just weird camera angle....

After the parade of cars we went back to Billy & Jeannie's MH and had a wine ... then I came home and put in the cats, fed Maggie and Harley, and it was pj time. Nice evening. Had a ball. Nothing better than good friends when you are in the dumps!

Neko ~ Salad ~ No-Bake Light As Air Cheese Cake w/ Booze

Good 57º (hit 92º yesterday!) new moon morning. Got to sleep in today until 7:30! Whooooot!

You have got to see this.... will make you smile (made me laugh) ... nutty dog!
Puppy fakes her own death while playing. [MOBILE VIDEO]
Frustrating day yesterday with the computer. I had installed Avery software in January and every time I tried to make a business card it would shut down and quit working. I uninstalled it. Reinstalled it, or tried to. Won't install. Keep getting error message. So mad at computer I want to reboot it with my dainty size 8 motorcycle boots! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Also, modem is being a B...turd and called my Qwest guy, Bob. He said he'd come out today, but too busy here, so he'll come by Monday, give me another modem and see if we can't figure why the wifi won't work on my laptops. They worked fine at Turk's, but not here.

Clear and sunny and we're finally getting "summer". Should be nice and HOT this evening when the old cars parade in Grants Pass.

I received a box of spices I just ordered from The Spice House in Geneva, Illinois. They have this one I really wanted to try... Za'Atar .. a Mediterranean blend of sumac, thyme, hyssop (leaves of the plant have a slightly bitter minty flavor), white sesame seed and oregano. It smells like HEAVEN. It's used on salads, kabobs, and vegetables... also on flatbread right out of the oven, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with Za'Atar.

Then I also got some Trinidad Lemon Garlic.  It's a Caribbean spice.. sprinkled on grilled chicken or fish. Makes a tootin' marinade with olive oil and vinegar. OMG Good!!!!

And lastly is Pepper-Orange Seasoning. Good on eggs, chicken, fish, pork ... and added to breading for fried chicken and fish.

Go to http://www.thespicehouse.com/ and peruse their array of spices. Nice people. Quick service. Reasonalble prices.

Then today is the big Back to the 50's stuff in GP. May go up there later. I do have to pet sit Neko and " Rio. Yesterday afternoon Neko was happy to be out of "Al-Cat-Traz and was flirting with Maggie...

Dinner was... remember that asparagus concoction I made? (Asparagun, pasta, salmon, tomatoes, olives, mushrooms, and the Baked Potato Dip) Well, I added a bunch of chopped cucumber, carrots, blue berries, broccoli slaw, chopped cabbage, and some toasted walnuts and ate it cold instead of warm. Perfect for a hot evening!

Maggie Bath ~ LBB ~ Applegate Farm ~ Good Friends

Good 51º morning. Beautiful.

My on line thermometer said it was 80º in Gold Beach (Oregon Coast!!) yesterday morning and I laughed and thought, "no way". But, way. Patty wrote it was 80º over there and gale force winds blowing. The breath of the devil..... YIKES.
I can't believe how fast this month has gone. OMG.
210th day of the year. Only 155 to go until 2012. GAAAAAAA.....

The baby LBBs have left the nest. This one was sitting on the porch just outside first thing yesterday morning .. now all activity has gone except for Dad occasionally, who is looking for his kids. Wondering...

Lucky Maggie got a bath yesterday ... Oh happy girl..

She does smell a WHOLE LOT better now... and, no, her hair on her buttinski is not growing back! Poor 'baboon butted' girl.
My friend PatG, in Oceanside, and formerly of Avalon .... sent me a copy of a magazine, California Quick Throttle from March 2011. In it is a story that was done on her husband, Jack, and the memorial service given him in Avalon after his death on November 29, 2010. It's titled Jack Goslin Rides On. Great article! Here it is on line...

That is Pat holding Jack's jacket. And... here are partial pictures of his bike....
Jack and Jerry were very good friends and Pat and Jack were Aaron's Godparents.

PatG also sent me a menu from the Catalina Country Club.
Oh my,it's fabulous!!! William Wrigley's passions were Catalina Island and the Chicago Cubs. The Cubbies came to the island for spring training for 30 years, from 1921 - 1951. The menu is peppered with photos of the Cubs on the island. Neat neat neat!!!! Since I am an old "menu collector" from way back, this is a real treasure.
(LASD people... I even have one from Steven's Steak House... if you recall how huge those menus were... not an easy task to get that one! LOL) (And Jimmy, I have one from Jake's and Sunnyside!!)

Ok, so historically this date.....
1958 – U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower signs into law the National Aeronautics and Space Act, which creates the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
1959 – First United States Congress elections in Hawaii as a state of the Union.

1981 – A worldwide television audience of over 700 million people watch the wedding of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Lady Diana Spencer at St Paul's Cathedral in London.

And births this date include...
1883 – Benito Mussolini, Italian fascist dictator (d. 1945)
(Ha ha... initials BM...just like my sister!)

1892William Powell, American actor (d. 1984)

1924 – Robert Horton, American actor

1924 – Elizabeth Short, American waitress, victim in the Black Dahlia case (d. 1947)

1933 – Robert Fuller, American actor
Laramie, Wagon Train, Emergency ... he was yummy!

...and today is the birthday of a great guy, former neighbor in TC when we moved there in 1971, he was 14, and he babysat for us and became a good friend. Now a Fire Capt with LACOFD....Robbie Wilkinson. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Rob!!!

Yesterday afternoon started off with errands... post office for packages and mail cards, market for essentials, car wash so my black beauty would look black again instead of gray, and to Brian's office. He wasn't busy and we had a great chat. He gave me some motivational CDs to listen to and a Cars2 shirt! Cool!

Then it was the delightful ride out to Applegate Valley Farm to meet up with Dale, Dee, Billy, and Jeannie. Joe and Joanne skipped on us in favor of the Willie Nelson concert at the Britt and Bob and Candy couldn't make it.

We thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Dinner was barbecued chicken and stuffed pork loin. Entertainment was a lady singer with a lovely voice. A group of car clubbers who are gearing up for the Back to the 50's in Grants Pass tomorrow were there. And of course I got set up with the empty wine glasses... friends do that.

Chaka waited patiently in the car...

And the ride home at dusk (following B&J and Chaka)

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Friday. Ciao. I'm pet-sittin' for Neko and Rio for a few days.
