Good 58º morning. "They" said it was going to only be 92º but
we made it all the way to 97º. Today is supposed to be 93º and then supposed to
drop to the high 80ºs. ICK!!!
Have you seen the new Pillsbury cake mixes? OMG. I
bought the Key Lime...
And there is frosting to match!
Uh huh.......................
Dinner was lobster tail... pasta...tomatoes.
OMGOOOOOD!!!
With sharp kitchen scissors cut down the top of the tail..
set the tail on top of the shell. Brush with clarified butter*, and
sprinkle on paprika.
Bake in 400º oven for 18 minutes. Perfect every time
(thanks to my nephew Jim for telling me how to do this!)
(Here you go Trish, one of my OLD cookie sheets.. came from former
father-in-law's bakery and is at least 50+ years old! Papa's bakery was on
Highway 39 and Whittier Blvd next to Von's. Called Evelyn's Bakery.)
The pasta was reheated reruns, the tomatoes
fresh, and the lobster mouth-wateringly good!!!
Watched Rachael Ray last week (if you held one of her hands
she wouldn't be able to talk! HA, maybe that's what her husband does!) and she had Sunny Anderson on and she made a
bunch of 2 ingredient recipes... all looked and sounded good. Here's the
link:
Then yesterday I was going to mow but changed my mind, took
the trash to the road, vacuumed, got gas in the truck, watered. Whoooot!
Excitement!
All I know. Nuff said. Happy Monday. Ciao.

August 18th
Soft Ice Cream Day
Oh gadzzzzzz...... I'm drooling!!!
AND... today is also:
Bad Poetry Day. A day to create some really bad verse. But, why you
ask? Perhaps, the answer is simply "because you can". Maybe, it exists to allow
us to better appreciate good poetry. Or, perhaps it is to be written to irritate
someone......
Ok, stand by, here's my contributions: (I want to see yours!)
There was a girl in San Francisco
Her favorite thing was to disco
She loved meals at the Wharf
She'd go with her boyfriend, the dwarf
They always take a cab
Not good driving after wine and crab
A young recruit in the Marines
Knew this was his destiny from his dreams
To protect us and this land
He learned how to show our enemies his slight of hand
This man in his heart was rewarded
Although his deeds went unrecorded
(so typical of how our vets are treated, except by those of us who love and
respect them!)
As for the "slight of hand"..... Now you see the bullet... now you
don't!!!!! Taaaaaaa
daaaaaaa....

VERY GOOD!! You made those up? Wow! I have always been horrid at that.
mmmmmmYour lobster dinner looked awesome. Did you save some of the butter for dipping?
I remembered another one of my pet peeves! These TV gal chefs who cook with their hair hanging down! grrrrr So many of them do it. They should be told to always wear a pony tail while cooking! UG!

Yes, I am a poet, Trish. My feet aren't Longfellows though!
I am conservative with butter, so to answer your question, "no, no butter for dipping". Actually it was awesome just the way it was!
You are right about female chefts/cooks on TV and their hair!!!
Ok, here is MY bad poetry:
Sometimes life has yucks,
Sometimes it sucks.
Sometimes you're fat,
Sometimes you're thin.
But if at the end you were up 51%
and down 49%, YOU WIN! *;) (winking)
