We're gonna get it for a few days.. at least it looks like by St. Paddy's
Day it will back off...
Sacramento/San Francisco area getting it too and wind and snow for the
Tahoe area. So. Cal will be nice.

So, Thursday I posted a photo of Jerry working Avalon Station 1969, on the "You know you're from Catalina when..." Facebook page and have gotten so many heartwarming comments from current and former Catalina folks! I also posted this on FB page LASD Sworn Past and Present. He was sooooooooooo well liked!!!
Yesterday was back therapy, the market for chicken thighs and corned beef
and cabbage for my St. Paddy's dinner. I have a bottle of Guinness in the fridge
so will put the corned beef and spices in the Crock*pot with the beer. I
also got cabbage and carrots. Asparagus was on sale, the real skinny ones that I
love. And I got some sea scallops. So will fix some of those tonight along with
risotto and asparagus. YUMMMM
I also picked up Patty and Cliff's mail at the post office, put the first
class letters in an envelope and mailed it off to them. When their house here is
finished being worked on (water leak caused a lot of damage...floors, carpets,
etc) in about 3 weeks they will be back. Then their house goes up for sale and
they will be permanent residents of the coast.

March 12th is National Baked Scallops Day
Scallops are one of the most popular shellfish in the world. These meaty
mollusks are low in fat and are delicious sauteed, deep fried, or baked! Baking
them leaves out a lot of the butter and fat that otherwise go into cooking this
lean, white seafood. Put scallops on the menu and in the oven for National Baked
Scallops Day!
I won't be baking mine, but will have scallops all the same. I cook mine
with butter, lemon juice, and capers.... fried.

I saw that wounded vet at Trump's Townhall with Hannity in real time. What a disgrace that our vets aren't treated any better. They say that illegal immigrants are treated better than our citizens! That's just plain criminal! GRRRRRR
I wouldn't have recognized Jerry in Catalina without his mustache! John worked over there for two weeks every summer while he was in SEB. I would go over and visit him. Once with little John, III when I was pg with Eric then later with boys when Eric was a toddler. A fun place.

Yes, Jerry's moustache was just him!!! But as a young clean faced guy he was super good looking!!! And yes, T, Catalina is a great place. Our children loved it! xo

Triggered a memory. My favorite family vacation picture is from the island. Buffalo, flying fishes, birds that swam and parrots on the golf course. And no cell phones at the time.
One of my pet peeves is cell phones in the bathroom- I've been tempted to make groaning noises for the background of other people's phone calls- but I don't look good in black eyes. Whether deserved or not, throwing punches is becoming too popular.
God bless our servicemen. When the VA works, its a blessing. When it doesn't- corrections to large bureacraies are like trying to sail a humpback whale on a specific course to a certain port.

Remember the Volks Wagon "Thing"? Well I think it was the Lt. over there who loaned his to John. It was orange! :) At the time the interior was closed to the public. We got to go driving around in there seeing the buffalo and other terrific sights. Also the airport. What was it called? Airport In The Sky?

Yes, T, the Airport In The Sky. Flew in there a few times with Jimmy Pierce our pilot. Driving in the interior was neat. Wrigley's horses and the buffalo and wild boars.... I also loved the food over there. xo
