Easter ~ Weather ~ Deviled Eggs/Lemon Cake/Poppyseed Muffins ~ Wine ~ Martin & Wayne

Good 44º cloudy Easter morning.

Happy Easter!
The rain started early yesterday, 8:15am. Pretty much drizzled all day. By 2pm we had 1/4". We may escape rain today, but looks like the South is getting hit and the Seattle area!

Yesterday was "get organized" day for a couple things. I had to hard boil eggs to make deviled eggs for Brian for Easter and a lemon cake. I don't make my eggs fancy. He only likes mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. I do top them with bacon salt!
The cake was simple, boxed lemon cake, lemon pudding, eggs, oil.  Bundt pan. Powdered sugar and lemon juice drizzled on the top.
And I made some poppyseed muffins...

I had a call from Brian yesterday, he just heard the DJ say on the radio, "Do you know that 2 - 3 glasses of wine a day reduces your risk of giving a shit." LOL!!!!! TRUE! Then I found this glass..

Oh and by the way, a new meaning for an old acronym....
WTF means "Wine Tasting Friends" !!!
This is a great super short film with Dean Martin and John Wayne...

National Spinach Day

Not only is spinach crazy good for you, but there are a multitude of delicious ways to enjoy this leafy green. See how many you can try today, and you'll be feeling as healthy and buff as the famous sailorman.
Spinach originated in ancient Persia, eventually making its way to Italy in 827 and finally gracing European tables in the 1300s. Its appearance in early spring made this a fast favorite when other vegetables were scarce during Lenten diets. For this reason, spinach has the great honor of being mentioned in the first known English cookbook.

When Catherine de'Medici became the queen of France in 1522, she insisted that spinach be served at every meal because she loved it so. Today when you hear of spinach dishes referred to as "Florentine," that is because Catherine was born in Florence

Tuxedo Cats ~ John Wayne,God Bless America ~ Mike's Help ~ Blooming Poppies ~ Doe ~ Good Friday

Good 42º cloudy morning. Again, predictions for AM clouds and PM sun. It finally work out that way yesterday! Warmed to 67º. Rain predicted for tomorrow and Easter. Joy, Easter Egg hunts in the rain!!!

When I was getting my haircut, I mentioned to Leah (who has 3 cats) that Bruiser constantly walks in front of my feet, around my feet, and through my legs. It's extremely frustrating as I have stepped on him a couple of times and almost fell a couple of times. I don't walk in the house or outside when he's with me without looking down at my feet the whole time!

Apparently Leah's Tuxedo Cat does the same thing and she said there were 3 other Tuxedos in her neighborhood that do the same thing. Must be their "thing". I know Bruiser loves my feet and climbing inside my slippers

I received this from Charlean (Gottesman) Allen (LASD ret). Truly it made me tear up. LOVED John Wayne and all those in this short video, God Bless America. OMGOSH, hearing Dean Martin was awesome as well as Ricky Nelson and Bing Crosby! You will enjoy.

Yesterday Mike came over and weed-eated my yard, trimmed a couple trees, and trimmed up all the grapevines. Everything looking better now. Thanks Mike!!!!
