Sigh ~ Tomatoes ~ MONOPOLY ~ Isabella&Delilah ~ Nachos

Good foggy 65ยบ drizzly morning.

Last night was a beauty of a sunset....

Sigh....

.. in the vernacular of Yoda, or "Yoda speak"... a nail-biter today is going to be. Scary it is. Up in flames the Dems and BO must go! Worried I am.

Yesterday I went to the Evans Valley Rural Fire Dist 6 station to pick up ballots.

This is in Wimer, which is about 8 miles north of Rogue River, but still the Rogue River zip code.

I counted and logged all ballots and the fire chief, Bill, initialed each with me. The off to Rogue River to deliver them to the "official ballot box". I goofed and gave the gal all the paperwork and she wrapped the ballots in it and put them into the ballot box. Sigh.... I needed to keep the originals. So, called Carol at City Hall and will pick up the paper work tomorrow morning.

Started cooking the last of the tomatoes I got from Jeannie. All ripened, but one! First picture taken on Oct 20th....second one on Nov 5th.

Then they all were cut in half, put into the crockpot

with sliced garlic, red onion, sea salt, citrus pepper, and olive oil, turned to low for 8 hours. Today I will put them through the  and strainer that will remove the skins, separate the juice, then I'll cook them down and can them. The juice will be canned separately. It's great in spinach smoothies!

Brian called me last night with this bit of encouragement... "Don't be too worried about the polls early in the morning as Obama will jump to an early lead. Don't be too upset, it will even out as soon as all the Republicans get off work!" <g>

National Nachos Day

A Tex-Mex classic since the 1940s, nachos are delicious as a snack or hors d'oeuvre at informal parties. The primary dish of tortilla chips, spicy ground beef or chicken, and cheese can be dressed up considerably with other tasty ingredients. Let's all salute inventor Ignacio 'Nacho' Anaya !
