Rain! ~ TBT 1952 ~ Doggie Half Time Show ~ Geese/Turkeys ~ Dave's Killer Bread Sandwich ~ Noodle Ring

Good 45º raining morning. Since yesterday afternoon about 1pm when the winds and rain started until this morning we have gotten 1".   Current radar:

Before the rains started....

Throw Back Thursday.. 1952
My uncle and aunt, Lloyd and Norie Mills, lived in Santa Rosa. The property had two homes and my aunt and uncle rented one of the homes. In the main house lived Johnny and his family. We had crushes on each other.

He had a big collie named Lassie who was sooooo sweet.

The family owned a plum orchard. Johnny and I would climb the plum trees. Sit up in them and eat the plums! Fun memories.

My "Greece traveling friend" Pat Kelly sent this... OMG. Half time show at Eagles game.. the BEST EVER! If you love dogs... you gotta watch!

Yesterday talk about a commotion outside... There were 16 geese on the barn roof and two on the ground...

Then the turkey flock was in the front yard.... about 20 of them...
NOISY!!! The turkeys were gobbling and gobbling and the geese were honking and honking!

Turkey gobble:
This one goose wouldn't land on the barn, and he kept flying over me. I guess he was keeping an eye on me!

Historically this date....

Dinner was an awesome meatloaf sandwich with Dave's Killer Bread... (here's their site:  )

I love this bread so much I just eat it plain... But, here's my awesome meatloaf sandwich. (Thanks Dave's Killer Bread!) This meatloaf recipe from yesterday 12-10.
That and a glass of wine and 2 great Hallmark Christmas movies.
Hmmmm.... let's see, tonight.... salmon and a salad with roasted carrots, etc.   Yes, that sounds good....
All I know. Happy TBT. Nuff said. Ciao.

National Noodle Ring Day

Noodle Ring Ingredients :
6 oz uncooked noodles
1½ c warmed milk
1 c soft breadcrumbs
1 t. salt
¼ t paprika
1/2 c grated cheese
or.... 1/2 pkg cream cheese ... or both!
3 eggs well beaten
1 t grated onion
2 T pimentos

Preheat oven to 350º and place a pan of water large enough to hold a ring mold in the oven to warm while you are making the recipe.

Cook noodles according to package directions, drain, set aside.

In large bowl combine all other ingredients and mix well. Add the cooked noodles and combine. Butter the ring mold and pour in the noodle mixture. Set in pan of water and bake 30-40 minutes until golden. Remove and let cool down enough so it can be unmolded onto a plate. Fill the center with your choice of vegetables.

Sorry.... couldn't find a picture of a noodle ring with veggies...
