DMV ~ Reflection ~ How To Cook A Lobster Tail

Good 43º morning. A few clouds at 5:30am ....

Yesterday topped at 81º. Absolutely beautiful day. Slight breeze in the afternoon made for some nice porch sitting. I thought about my wedding day and all the friends and family who showed up. My mom made a cake and sandwiches. We had the reception at home in the backyard. An old water cooler was filled with wine and an ice chest filled with beer. It was a good day. The wedding took place in the courtyard of the Congregational  Church on San Gabriel Blvd.

Sandy (Todoran) Beck was my maid of honor, Steve Voors was best man, Brian the ring bearer, and Kristen my flower girl.
Working deputies who couldn't get time off came to the church, parked in front (looked like a raid going on at the church) and stood in the courtyard with us and then headed back to their patrol areas. Wonderful family, good friends, a great day.

Yesterday, with my best intentions, I was heading to the Grants Pass DMV.

But, prior to heading out I checked the Oregon DMV site. As it turned out most of the local offices are closed this week, opening on Friday, for building maintenance. So I called their Information number and got this gal who was so nice and helpful. She ran my plate and it came back 1M417 instead of IM417. So she said she could fix it there and send me a notice I can put in my car window until I get the corrected registration. How great! I called RR PD and left a message for Officer Frownfelter. Giggle.... You realize, in Colliefornia DMV would NOT do this for you!

Brian called and I got a photo assignment. A house he is insuring was close to me, well, it was 10 miles out Pleasant Creek Rd,  and so I went up there to take pictures for him.

Beautiful out that way, north of RR, but they have no view!
I am so spoiled.
Their dog came running out barking... and then decided he liked Maggie....

At one point they touched noses.

Then a quick run to RR and the Post Office. Flag Day so all the flags were out...

Now, this you have to see...
This guy is amazing slapstick comic. He was also the co-inventor of the trampoline. (Mike, thanks for this!)
About Larry:
So, the old fart Hefner is not going to get married this Saturday.
Gawd, he's 85 years old and she's 25!!!
"The third time was anything but a charm for Hugh Hefner, whose wedding to Crystal Harris has been called off. "The wedding is off," Hefner glumly told his Twitter followers Tuesday. "Crystal has had a change of heart." According to TMZ, the 25-year-old model left the Playboy Mansion over the weekend after having a fight with the publishing mogul, 60 years her senior.
Multiple sources told the site that Harris moved her things out of the mansion and that the wedding, set for Saturday June 18, was canceled. It would have been Hefner's third marriage.
Harris, who earlier in the day promoted a comedic video that revolves around her relationship, released a statement on her website to explain her decision.
"After much deep reflection and thought I have decided to end my engagement with Hef," she wrote. "I have the utmost respect for Hef and wish him the best going forward. I hope the media will give each of us the privacy we deserve during this time."

So.... last night about midnight, Mr. Skunk
with a well thought out plan to ruin the ever so peaceful quiet, still, comfy cold night air that was waffing through my slider door... deposited a gagging, offensive, vile, saturating, malodourous
emission destroying the ambience of the night air. It was burning my nose hairs! Dang! Oh wait, yes, it's a FULL MOON! That is why my back went south yesterday. That is why I bruised my arm. That is why I dropped the ice chest and spilled iced water all over that patio. That is why.......    sigh......  Guess I'd best go take another pain pill! Today might not be any better!

National Lobster Day

How to cook a lobster tail...PERFECTLY!
(This from my nephew Jim Plumbridge ...a former chef, now Realtor in Tahoe City, Ca.)
Pull meat out of shell by making a cut down the entire length of the tail on top.
Put meat on top of the shell. Brush with clarified butter* and sprinkle with paprika.
Bake at 400º for 15-18 minutes. PERFECT every time!
* Melt the butter over a med heat and simmer a few minutes until you can see the solids separating. Take a spoon and skim off the solids. Voilá. Clarified butter!
