Good 32º snowy (!) morning. Just a dusting ...
Today a fellow is coming to do an appraisal on my re-fi loan with State Farm. Gots to go get the gate open....
I have a disaster in the dining room. I dismantled a bunch of books from baskets etc, and they are all over the table, awaiting the new bookcase that will be here tomorrow!
Ha ha ha... I guess he won't be too impressed with my housekeeping! Oh well................. the baskets will go somewhere else, the plants are housebound until the weather warms, and the books are mostly my cook book collections.
From Merill and Ginny Feiker......

"My friends" at JD Foods where the bacon salt and Baconnaise come from posted my blog on their FB page....http://www.facebook.com/JDsFoods How cool is that!
Yesterday Maggie and I took a load of 'stuff' to Goodwill and a big bag of books to the library. The lady at the library was very happy and impressed with the books. The ones that don't go in the library will be sold at their bookstore. Then to the market where I ran into Nancy Perry who gave me a recipe for brussells sprouts. I am not a brussells sprout lover, but I will try her version! It's weird, because I like cabbage! (see recipe below)
Last night dinner was an experiment.... I made a " cabbage/sausage casserole" that was ok, but will make changes for next time. It came from a "family recipes" cookbook that was put together by friends of friends.....
2 packages Raman noodles, crumbled and cooked in 2 cups boiling water. Set aside and add 1 T soy sauce and mix in. Brown about 3/4 pound pork sausage with 1/2 chopped onion. In large pan cook cabbage in a small amount of oil until soft. Add noodles and sausage to cabbage, 1/2 bunch green onions chopped, 1/2 bell pepper chopped, sprinkle on the Raman seasoning packs. Cover and cook about 3 minutes.
It was good, and I had some more of the rolls from the night before (which are great, by the way!) and some tomatoes. Next time, I will use more cabbage, more green onions, more bell pepper, and more seasonings ... soy sauce and maybe some sesame oil, hot pepper flakes or Tabasco, AND Bacon Salt!!!!
