New Moon ~ Good Soup ~ National Spaghetti Day

Good 29º morning. Stayed at and below 35º all day yesterday. It's the danged cold toilet seat that gets me! Fog and gloom. On the news people were told if you have an approved wood stove, one with low emissions, not to even use those. The inversion layer is suffocating us.

For some people the wood stove is their only means of heat, so doubt if they won't be using theirs! I certainly used mine with a roaring fire last night. Nice. Even Harley and Maggie were happy and snuggy.

Yesterday the excitement here was un-nerving. I paid bills and wrote cards. PJ called to say her trash can had been tipped over into the ditch before the trash had been picked up. (Kids) The trash company informed her, too bad - so sad, but trash won't be picked up again until next week. Maggie was barking and I saw a FedEx truck at my gate. He obviously wasn't the regular guy, as he left the package down there. Didn't have the gate code. So, later I decided to retrieve the package, check on my trash can, and take mail to the post office. I was lucky, my trash had been picked up and Frank had brought the can from the road to it's normal 'waiting place'. PJ, there will be plenty of room for your extra trash for the next pick up.

Dinner was soup. It was so depressingly cold that it sounded wonderful. I heated up a box of creamy chicken soup

, added stir-fry veggies and rice, diced fresh tomato, sliced garlic, red pepper flakes, Rosemary sea salt, and pepper. Mmmmmm......

Retraction.... I said yesterday the Chargers had lost to the Broncos. My old pal John (Berokoff) informed me of my error. I read the following wrong...

I told John that I figured, as well as Cliff, that they would lose anyway. Well, shut my mouth! Good for the Chargers! Actually, lol, John must be a Chargers fan to notice. Or, wait, maybe he's disgruntled and is a Bronco fan! Hmmmm...... ponderings.

Today is get organized day. Find a place for all the loot I managed to collect from friends and family for Christmas and "neaten up" the wrapping stuff upstairs. Dontcha just get all tingly at my prospects for the day! After all, this is National Get Organized Month!

Historically this date....
1847Samuel Colt sells his first revolver pistol to the United States government.
1865 – The New York Stock Exchange opens its first permanent headquarters at 10-12 Broad near Wall Street in New York City.

(One of my photos from 2008 and my trip to NY with Joan)
2007 – The 110th United States Congress convenes, electing Nancy Pelosi as the first female Speaker of the House in U.S. history.
.... what a disastrous fu**ing mistake that was!

And births this date include...
1643Sir Isaac Newton, English mathematician and natural philosopher (d. 1727)

1905Sterling Holloway, American Character Actor (d. 1992)

He played such goofy parts that his name just
didn't fit him. Should have been something
like Archie or Barnaby or Izzy!

1927 – Barbara Rush, American actress

1937 – Dyan Cannon, American actress

(Gadz, she looked like a teen!)

... and then she didn't think she was beautiful enough, so she had surgery...........
Good grief! And a see through blouse too!

1941 – Maureen Reagan, American political activist (d. 2001)

1957Patty Loveless, American singer

1965 – Julia Ormond, English actress

liked her in Legends of the Fall with Brad Pitt and in Kitt Kittredge:An American Girl Mystery...
....and today is also the birthday of my 'daily drivel pal' Lydia.

Happy Birthday girlfriend!
She has a very nice blog at http://www.averygoodlife.blogspot.com/

So, the scuttle-butt is that Sandra Bullock is seeing Ryan Reynolds. How cool. Cute couple! AND.... Favre and the Jets are being sued for sexual harassment by two massage therypists employed by the team. Like Tiger Woods and Jesse James, he tossed his reputation out the window when he dabbled with other women other than his wife! Idiots, all.

Patty and Cliff are having all new double-paned windows put in their house today. Big project but will make it so nice and much warmer with no more ice in the track.

All I know. Nuff said. Happy Tuesday! Ciao.
