Recycle That Pumpkin ~ Lynda & Rick ~ RR Crash ~ Musashi ~ Grants Pass Art Museum ~ Evan & Brianna ~ Brian & Jen's Halloween

Good 44º cooler very foggy morning. Hit 55º yesterday. I hoped it wouldn't rain on the trick-or-treaters and the high school football games and it didn't! Yeah.

There are several things you can do with your Halloween pumpkin when the celebrating is over... Turn them in to feeders for the birds... or leave them out for the squirrels to enjoy...

My dear friend Charline Aubin (1939-1999) gave me her recipe for stuffed pumpkin. Easy and sooooooooooo good!

Charline's Stuffed Pumpkin
"Select a small firm dark skinned pumpkin. Cut top as though you were preparing a Halloween pumpkin and retain the top. Clean out seeds and excess membrane. Salt well and set aside.
Stuffing:
(depends on the size of the cavity)
Ground beef, sufficient to fill cavity)
onions, chopped (1 per pound of meat)
salt, pepper, sage, bay leaf, basil, celery salt, garlic ... any 'earthy' spices/herbs

Brown beef and onions with seasonings. Drain excess fat. Rinse pumpkin cavity, dry and salt lightly.
Fill with stuffing and replace top.
Place in shallow baking dish, such as a pie pan or 9x9 pyrex, and fill 1/2 full of water. Bake low and slow.. 250º - 300º until you can press easily into the pumpkin skin.  Serve whole pumpkin. Scoop out stuffing along with the cooked pumpkin. Best served with potatoes and salad."
**Because you know how I alter recipes... my additions are sauteéd mushrooms and some crumbled bacon. Cheese, about 2 cups shredded, is also good. Also, mix in some canned undiluted cream of mushroom soup.** Now if you don't cook it the above way, you can set it in a baking dish, wipe outside well with olive oil, and bake 350º for about 1½-2 hours.

Headed to Grants Pass yesterday morning.. an accident on our road. Truck took a dive and crashed into a rock wall....

It was haircut day. I had thought of growing it longer and did for a couple of months and then got tired of it, so back short! Then to Musashi for a quick bite with Jennifer and her friend, Chris Ponderlick, who is the director of the art museum in Grants Pass. I had saké and a Ninja Roll (cooked crab, cheese, rice, etc.)

OMGOOOOOD!!!!!
This handsome Halloween guy was in the restaurant!

After hearing about the art show going on at the Art Museum in GP, I am going to go. It is a photography show by an Ashland Photographer, David Winston.
I think the museum is open M-F noon-4pm. It's at 232 SW 6th Street.

Stopped at neighbors Frank & Cindy's. Their grandchildren, Evan and Brianna were playing in grandpa's Jeep... cute little bugs!!!

Evening time I headed to Brian and Jen's for their annual Halloween Party... Jen was going a mile a minute. Decorations, tons of food, and costumes. A bunch of their friends and their children showed up. Everyone ate and then they headed out to trick or treat.
Jennifer.... Lady of the Mansion...

The Johnson's... Dan Jessica and Dana... Troy was off with the other kids..

Bruce and Barbel Donovan bearded Duck Dynasty ....

Sami was Elsa from Frozen and Tucker (rummaging in the closet for his helmet) was a Storm Trooper from Star Wars ..

I had contemplated wearing my "press stalker" outfit, but changed my mind and just enjoyed everyone else's costumes...
My name on the press pass is Puddin Tane... !!!

Don't forget...................... tonight before you go to bed!
