Christmas Eve ~ Santa ~ Savory Biscuit Poppers

Good 23º morning. OMG, I slept in til 8!!!

Looks like precipitation for Christmas.... if it stays this cold it will be snow!

Had a great afternoon with Jeannie, Bill, and Chaka. We had little gifts and wine. So nice.

Just wanted you to know I have decorated up the 'summer home' for Christmas....

Kristen has discovered a fun site and she made the following video for her son Jack and one for Sami and one for Tucker: They take about a minute to load.

Historically this date...
1826 – The Eggnog Riot at the United States Military Academy begins that night, wrapping up the following morning.
??? Bad boys smuggling in whiskey !!

1865 – The Ku Klux Klan is formed.

1943 – World War II: U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower becomes the Supreme Allied Commander.

1955NORAD Tracks Santa for the first time in what will become an annual Christmas Eve tradition.

1964Vietnam War: Viet Cong operatives bomb the Brinks Hotel in Saigon to demonstrate they can strike an American installation in the heavily guarded capital.

1968 – The crew of the USS Pueblo is released by North Korea after being held for 11 months on suspicion of spying.

1968 – Apollo Program: The crew of Apollo 8 enters into orbit around the Moon, becoming the first humans to do so. They performed 10 lunar orbits and broadcast live TV pictures that became the famous Christmas Eve Broadcast, one of the most watched programs in history.

And births this date include...
1809Kit Carson, American frontiersman (d. 1868)

A grumpy looking old guy! I liked Bill Williams best, playing Kit Carson!

1905Howard Hughes, American film producer and inventor (d. 1976)

1922Ava Gardner, American actress (d. 1990)

1923 – George Patton IV, American general (d. 2004)

1971 – Ricky Martin, Puerto Rican singer

1974 – Ryan Seacrest, American television host
LOL, his high school picture and with his girl, Julianne Hough....
A big improvement since his youth!

Here's a great little recipe for Christmas morning breakfast/brunch....

Savory Biscuit Poppers

2 cups Original Bisquick® mix
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (2 ounces)
1/3 cup diced cooked bacon (or use pre-cooked bacon)
4 medium green onions, sliced (1/4 cup)
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
2 T olive oil
1/4 cup diced bell pepper
1/8 t. fresh ground black pepper
(if you like them even more 'savory' add chopped canned jalapeños ... to taste)

Heat oven to 450°. Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray. Stir Bisquick mix, milk, cheese, bacon, bell pepper, pepper, olive oil, and onions until soft dough forms.

Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet.

Bake 7 to 9 minutes or until golden brown. Brush butter over warm biscuits. Serve with salsa if desired.

All I know. Christmas Eve is upon us.
Merry Christmas to all!
